Lay this one at the feet of Billy Boy Clinton and that NAFTA nightmare.

I remember when they did this to Syracuse, New York in the late 1990s. Bad deal for the locals.

I believe in a free market. They should be able to build their air conditioners where ever they want. It’s a business decision.

Just slap a 100% tariff on air conditioning equipment brought in from Mexico.

So how do these US companies, who move to Mexico, deal with the cartels and corruption?

Just join in the fun and games....or take battalions of security personnel?

That is why this afternoon I will issue an Executive Order to create a task force that will convene local, state, and federal resources and direct every tool at our disposal toward supporting these workers in the days ahead.

It should be known that here in Indy, we elected a new Democrat Mayor. His first job is to get a bunch of folks on entitlement programs because another company can't compete with manufacturing in America.

There has been a bunch of whining around here today about the "regulations" part of the explanation. "What regulations?" people are asking. Obamacare, EPA, Energy efficiencies (with operations), taxes, employment, etc. Indiana is a good place for most businesses. But opportunities in Mexico, specifically Monterrey, are rich.

It is worth noting that wages in Mexico are increasing rapidly in manufacturing and construction. In places like Queretaro, Puebla and Monterrey, they aren't that far behind American wages. The business taxes are much friendlier however.

The media and the democrat establishment have been trying to convince us that everything is going well. Doesn’t work.

Cruz, Rubio, Trump...what they said about Trade & Guns in announcement speech.

This week we have examined the presidential campaign announcement speeches of Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio and Donald Trump.
We have looked at their comments on immigration and Terrorism, Islam here. http://towncriernews.blogspot.com/2016/02/what-issues-really-matter-to-candidates.html

Today we look at what their concerns with the 2nd amendment/right to bear arms in their important first campaign speeches. Following that is Trade.

Cruz
“Imagine instead of economic stagnation, booming economic growth.”
( THAT is it! Not specifically ‘trade’, but as close as he got to it! Cruz implores us to use our ‘imagination’ instead of telling us what he will do, and yes Trump goes into MUCH more detail)

If all of our jobs are moving to Mexico, then why are all those Mexicans trying so hard to get here? So they DON’T have to get a job and get on the welfare wagon?

Donald Trump is right again.

These types of stories are now being reported more frequently.

Trumps. Right. Again.

Just curious, I went to Cruz’s website to see what he would do about stopping jobs from leaving the US, ending corporate inversion, bringing back US company capital, etc:

https://www.tedcruz.org/issues/jobs-and-opportunity/

Not much. Ted would end the “Waters of the US” rule, tell Congress to pass something called the REINS Act, approve the Keystone Pipeline (sorry Ted, TransCanada says it’s too late), do something about “internet freedom”, and then tell Congress to repeal Obamacare and pass his Flat Tax proposal.

Cruz’s job would be to affix his signature to these laws after Congress initiates, debates, and passes them.

In other words, Ted Cruz says he would be the kind of President who would wait for Congress to do stuff and then take credit for it. And even then, this is going to help the 1400 people out of a job in Indy....how??

Do you want a PROVEN ECONOMIC WINNER negotiating with corporate leaders to restore jobs in the US or someone who hasn’t even run a lemonade stand trying to get Congress to pass “his plan”?

GO TRUMP!

But remember folks, free trade is really great for our country, and if we go slapping tariffs on other countries, it might hurt employment here.

Actully, it’s 2100 jobs:

United Technologies Electronic Controls also announced Wednesday that it will move its Huntington manufacturing operations to a new plant in Mexico, costing the northeastern Indiana city 700 jobs by 2018. Those workers make microprocessor-based controls for the HVAC and refrigeration industries.

Probably they can’t keep copper for the HVAC units without having to hire security guards to protect the metal. I understand Indianapolis is going the way of St. Louis and Memphis and businesses are fleeing it.
