You should ask the question Would you still support Ted Cruz if he was running as a Democrat?

Your assumption is that a lifelong liberal NYer with a massive ego won’t be as bad for the country as either of the two upfront liberal. I would respectfully disagree with that assumption. Big imperial government is bad regardless of which party runs it.

Good question. I for one would support Ted Cruz if he was running as a Democrat.

If there is one thing that is abundantly clear - labels like Republican or Democrat mean absolutely nothing anymore. It’s just one giant Uniparty in DC.

Even Ted (as a Republican) is getting thrown under the bus on a daily basis by who? Yep, Republicans.

“Donald Trump finally came out of the closet: yes, he admitted, he’s no conservative...”

The GOPe proves daily they’re no conservative...

It’s one thing to be critical of Trump but another to completely distort something he said. His comment seems pretty clear that many Republican candidates called themselves Conservative and made noises that sounded Conservative, were elected with the help (support) of Conservative voters, and even as their oaths of office were still echoing under the Capitol dome started making deals with Democrats and unconditionally surrendered to Obama’s agenda. Not that “Conservatives are the problem”. Paradoxically, Ted Cruz was not one of the turncoats and is one of the few who tried to buck his party leadership’s collaborationist mentality. So Trump’s comment was not even a blow against his principal opponent but against a common foe. At least that’s how I read it.

The truth is, Trump’s essentially correct. There are a significant number of GOP members of the House and Senate who ran as conservatives, but voted otherwise once they were inaugurated. Where he’s wrong - in my humble and hopefully inoffensive opinion - is in equating Republican, faux-conservative legislators with real conservatives, of which there are very few.

For me personally, I was hoping that Mike Lee (100% A rating from CR) would run for president, but I’ll settle for Ted Cruz (97% A rating), even though I have questions about a couple of his votes and his explanations for those votes. Like others presumably a helluva lot smarter than me, I think the Trump phenomenon is entirely a creation of the GOPe/uniparty and now they don’t know what to do with it.

My only question is which Trump I’ll be voting for - the one who, four years ago, thought Obama was a superstar and Hillary would make a great president or vice president, or the Trump who thinks Obama’s the worst president in history.

After Cruz campaigned for Barack Obama for a month in the U. S. Senate on TPA. Sadly, Cruz has earned every bit of criticism he gets based on his votes in the U. S. Senate.

Bottom line........Trump is COUNTING on Conservatives being stupid enough to fall for empty rhetoric again. He seems to be correct, if you look at his poll numbers......

Here's the tweet:

Remember, it was the Republican Party, with the help of Conservatives, that made so many promises to their base, BUT DIDN'T KEEP THEM! Hi DT

I fail to see this as blaming conservatives. Sounds more like he is blaming the GOPe.

My new Congressman was on fire to overturn Obama's agenda.

Got elected and then voted for the Obama budget giving Dems everything because he boasted that it included $7.5 million for citrus research. Didn't bother to answer my email reminding him of his promises and the fact the Obama spends twice that on one vacation.

You know what? As a Cruzer - I can take the hits you give him on the TPP issue. I don’t like his support there either.

But at least it’s not ObamaCare he’s supporting. Like Donald does.

Ummmm, also,.......we all do remember how the entrenched gopers/rino/vichy republican establishment did their list purges of conservatives out of committee spots and backed other candidates when their elections came up...?

No committee seats or chairs, you can’t do much. Zero leverage. As far as bills, how is one with no power and the fricking unitard party against them going to do that? The people who go behind closed doors with their libral socialist allies and eat brie and laugh and talk about their next g-d golf game...

A lot of Tea Party conservatives said one thing to get elected and did another thing when they went to Washington,

Exhibit A: Marco "Gang of Eight" Rubio. I'd vote for Bernie Sanders before I voted for that backstabber. At least Bernie is being honest about his intentions.
