Wednesday on Fox News Channel's "America's Newsroom," Rep. Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) said while Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has "tapped into a legitimate frustration and anger," his opponent Sen. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) is the GOP's "best chance to win" in the general election.
When asked about Trump Gowdy said, "He has tapped into a legitimate frustration and anger that I feel in my own district. A lot of us share it. The question is, what do you do with the frustration and anger? What I want to do is win in November. I want to control the executive branch. I want to pick the next Supreme Court justices. I want a foreign policy actually is coherent. So I get the anger. I get frustration. I want to translate that into victory. So in other words, making a point is fine. And the point has been made. I am much more interested in making a difference. The way to make a difference is to win in November. and Marco is our best chance to win."

“Gowdy, you are not a conservative and neither are the many Trump supporters.”
Gowdy, you are not a conservative and neither are the supposed “conservative candidates” running for President.
And yeah 5th Place makes him the “best”...
This is what “conservatism” looks like nowadays. Sad.
Were Marco the nominee the GOP would be hoping for antiDem turnout as much or more then they would get ‘hey wow I’m excited about my guy’ turnout.
3rd then 5th is not the record of a future mainstream winner.
And yes, Trey, we are angry. How are you NOT angry after the obfuscation and lies and corruption you have witnessed first hand from your chairman’s perch. Those same violations you claimed to be exposing to the torch light of justice?

Mr. Chairman?
The Benghazi bungler continues to be a huge disappointment for us and a hero for the GOPE! Yuge!
Trump continues to smoke out those who hate America and pretend to defend it.
For a time I was a major kneepad wearing fan of his but as of late Gowdy diminishes by the hour.
Gowdy is a man who today I No longer recognize.
PING
I think all those hearings have affected Gowdy.
Marco was Our Best Chance to Win... 5th place in New Hampshire or third place in Iowa.
“...his opponent Sen. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) is the GOP’s “best chance to win” in the general election.”
I just don’t agree with this one. None of the GOP candidates are perfect, and none of them are 100% of what I want. But Rubio’s meltdown, coupled with some of his other missteps, have convinced me he is not ready to be President. He is too easily rattled, too given to flopsweat when forced off script.
I do believe there’s a lot of potential in Rubio, especially if he gets his head right on immigration and stops letting his ambition get in the way by taking shortcuts and playing footsie with the establishment to get ahead (I believe his involvement in the “Gang of Eight” was first and foremost an attempt by Rubio to shoot up the ranks by being part of a major piece of legislation so early in his career). But IMHO, he’s just not ready for the top of the ticket, much less be the guy to lead the nation.
For me, it’s got to be either Cruz or Trump. I prefer Cruz, but I will absolutely vote for Trump if he is the nominee. Hillary (or Bernie) must be defeated in November. 2016 is our last, best chance to undo at least some of the damage Obama has caused over the past 8 years.
I was a GowdyGowdy fan until he went weird spending more time on his GQ wannabe haircut styling than he did on putting The Beast in jail.
Yes he is.
Funny how somebody in 3rd and 4th place is supposed to be the strongest candidate. Somehow that doesn’t seem to make much sense.
Limbaugh the other day now Gowdy...But no surprise here.
Rubio only got elected to the Senate, because he ran against Charlie Crist, and some Democrat in a three way race.
Floridians remember Crist.
One term Governor (Former Jeb Bush minion), who couldn't get the Republican nomination to run for the Senate that year, so switched to independent, and lost twice to Rubio.
(Rubio was better than Crist, that's about it)
He then switched to full on Democrat, and tried to run for Governor a few years later. Lost that election too.
I'm not sure what he's doing nowadays.
Rubio knew he had zero chance of re-election to the Senate in 2016, so he decided to run for POTUS.
Rubio does not have a large following in Florida...LOL!
Except for bringing down Hillary by uncovering her personal server what good has he done ?
Thats right.... throw em all under the bus
He revealed himself with his crying hugs for Rep. Luis Gutierrez over failure of amnesty.
Trey uses his tongue better’n a twenty dollar horr.
He sure learned how to talk that Beltway BS good!
So now he’s going home having accomplished absolutely nothing.
