Right-wing rocker Ted Nugent defended his anti-Semitic post slamming prominent supporters of gun control, bizarrely claiming that anyone with sense knows that "Jews for gun control are Nazis in disguise."
In the original post on the Motor City Madman's Facebook page, the Nuge shared an image of prominent politicians like Michael Bloomberg, Sen. Charles Schumer and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emmanuel under the banner "So who is really behind gun control?" Each photo was accompanied by an Israeli flag.
TED NUGENT'S RECENT HISTORY OF OFFENSIVE REMARKS
The Daily Newsâ coverage of the post even prompted a backlash among people who normally support âUncle Tedâ â but the 67-year-old gun nut stood by the message. Ted Nugent's response to the Daily News. Ted Nugent via Facebook Ted Nugent's response to the Daily News.
âJust when you hope that mankind couldnt possibly get any dumber or more dishonest, superFreaks rise to the occasion," Nugent wrote in his new post Monday evening. "What sort of racist prejudiced (piece of sh--) could possibly not know that Jews for guncontrol are nazis in disguise? "NEVER AGAIN!" Anyone? Anyone?? (Are you fu--king kidding me?)â
The Nuge ranted that some of his best friends are Jewish.
âThe NEVER AGAIN battlecry was universally embraced by all good people who will make sure another Holocaust never happens again. Freaks have plummeted to whole new low. Plummet on punks. Plummet on. Meanwhile I adjust my yamika at my barmitzva playing my kosher guitar. My dad killed nazis & saved Jews in WWII. Eat me,â he wrote.
One of Nugentâs supporters singled out The News.
âNugent is correct, you guys at NYDaileynews are the propaganda spreading traitors and fools...â Cynthia Gallagher commented.
Nugent replied, âBingo.â
Shira Goodman, the executive director of CeaseFirePA, dismissed Nugent's latest post. Her predecessor was among those singled out by the right-wing rocker.
âOur supporters across the board â regardless of race, religion, gender, ethnicity â recognize Nugent's anti-Semitic screed for the hateful bigotry it is. His post today equating those calling for stronger gun laws with Nazis sinks him lower into the pit of hatred and ignorance that is the sanctuary of extremists,â she said.
The politicians singled out in the image did not comment.
But Harvard Law School Prof. Alan Dershowitz â also in the photo array â said he was happy to be associated with the pols.
âI like the company this bigot puts me in. And I admire the flag he places me near,â he previously told The News.
No I am not rock star whose sold any records, nor am I racist who married my own adopted daughter.
Yes, you make some good points there. I agree.
I wonder what sorts of things he has said about Jews and Israel in the past. I never got this complet wackjobbery type vibe of of him before this, but who knows, I guess. I think the absolute least worst scenario I can think of at this point is that he just can’t admit he missed the captions and implications when he posted the image. So know he can’t shut up the racists Jew haters on his own facebook page that are supporting the image because they find it good Jew hating material and he would be contradicting himself if he tells them they are mouthbreathers?
Freegards
JPFO is right on target.
“But I do believe he is losing his grip on reality.”
He has long had a “colorful” way of speaking.
In this case he was referring to the well known gun grab by Hitler, although apparently many people are too dense to get the reference.
His heart is in the right place...
Ted Nugent has never been a part of this household, and never will. I would place a cat dropping above Ted Nugent in importance right about now, as a matter of fact. Methinks he’s done drugs and such in the past and it’s catching up to him now.
It’s not drugs. Ted’s always advocated clean living and outdoor sporting (hunting, mostly). Maybe 7+ years of the Hussein regime has driven him a bit nuts.
Yeah. Should have been the Nazi flag. The Nuge is right. These anti-gunners are either today's Nazis or just plain evil. Either one works.
The dem party should get a new flag symbolizing their hatred of freedom. An anti-freedom flag.
OTH - someone has to state the obvious in terms that can be understood. While the sentiment of Jews for gun control may not be what was advertised, the end result is the same.
By referencing Jew York city you find his heart to be in the right place?
You can have him.
“By referencing Jew York city you find his heart to be in the right place?”
Seen any comedy lately? Far more offensive things are mainstream.
It’s certainly true there are plenty of Jews in New York. I agree that it’s probably not helpful to focus on ethnicity - however his point revolved around the Nazi disarmament enabling the Holocaust.
“You can have him.”
Thanks!
Do you terminate old friendships every time a friend says something offensive to you? Just curious...

Excellent idea, one that has proved tried and true in the past.
Scapegoat a particular category of humanity (knowing full well that the categorization is false), demonize them, and wait for popular opinion to get in line with the false narrative.
Can’t seem to recall who last went that route.
Yes, I do in fact distance myself from racists. You don’t?
I’m sorry you are unable to distinguish the difference between comedy and Nugents commentary.

Funny thing about the erosiveness of the PC culture - it erodes the ability to use apt analogies because they seem to be just way to coarse and crude these days because they may offend the prissy who are oh-so set on playing nice to those who are so ready to waive the Freedoms that were paid for with the blood of those who were more in tune with reality instead of idealistic fantasies of some moral high ground....
Next up - why those who use run-on sentences just ain't right.......
well, we know Hillary’s opinion about Sanders
he falls under the heading of a FJB
‘Twas you that suggested that his narrative was fake but accurate, trebb, not me.
Look, if you find common cause with those referencing Jew York city, that’s no concern of mine. If you think that it is simply PC to judge Nugents comments as coming from a dark place, that is also no concern of mine.
I will remember, however, to use simpler sentence structure next time I post to you. Sorry you difficulty parsing that 29 word sentence.
If you'd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.

As I noted on the other thread a couple days ago I find equally offensive his Facebook comment that Jews who died in the Holocaust were soulless sheep. It raises a number of questions, were Christians killed soulless as well? If so, he's consistant though his standard is beyond me. More likely, having no soul is a comment he'd reserve for Jews, given his continued exposition of his position relative to Jews, Israel and 9/11 conspiracies and his acceptance of support from the neonazi community. Best publicity they've had in years. And his antics will be used by the left to portray gunowners in general, the NRA specifically, Republicans and conservatives in general, Trump and Cruz specifically as hateful bigots. And yes, it will be effective amongst some independents.
Yeah, the ad was nasty. His comments offensive.
That may have been his intent, but the photo he chose to use is one that was created (and distributed) by neo-Nazi types, and which includes blatantly anti-Semitic nonsense ("Jew York City," "9/11 Israeli agent," "ISRAEL FIRSTER," etc.)
And, he has refused to back down from the image, even after that has been pointed out to him.
