What I want to see from this is full-throated support of police agencies advocating for enabling all us would-be “good Samaritans” by removing the unconstitutional impediments to obtaining, carrying, and using arms in defense of ourselves, our neighbors, and our property.
I’d really like to hear about how “man with a gun” 9-1-1 calls got “so what” answers; how crime victims were asked what active measures they took to prevent their own victimization; I could go on, but I think my general drift could be divined.

I recall a day when cops shot thug kids in the back, black or white, just for fleeing from them. I know this because it happened in Chicago when I was a kid. I guess the pendulum has swung to the other extreme.

That's when the good Samaritan, who lives on the block, came out of his house with a gun in his hand and told the teens to get away from the cop, Chitwood said. A few of the forty kids are going to know where this good citizen came from.
I just hope that this man does not come to regret having stepped up and defended this officer.
