Cruz to GOP: It’s either me or Trump

Premature or prophetic? While analysts tried to figure out who had a "ticket" coming out of New Hampshire, Ted Cruz told Salem's Mike Gallagher that only two tickets exist -- at least in first class. With a win in Iowa and a surprising third-place finish last night, Cruz warned the Republican Party that he's the only one in the field who can dethrone Trump:

"South Carolina historically has played a critical role picking presidents. And I think Iowa and New Hampshire perform an incredibly important function in narrowing the field and in many ways this field is becoming a two-person race between me and Donald Trump," the Texas senator said on the Mike Gallagher Show Wednesday. "What Iowa and New Hampshire demonstrate is that the only person in this field who can beat Donald Trump is me. The other candidates are not able to beat Donald Trump."

Cruz is a serial liar, a crooked pol who pulls dirtier tricks and smear campaigns far worse than anything in recent political history, hangs with crazy Glenn Beck, and is untrusTED by the majority of Americans.

Wanna talk about flip flopping? Ted is THE biggest flip flopper in this pack of candidates and he's INELIGIBLE to be president to boot!

Calling others Trumpbot is rude. I am sorry your parents did not instill good manners and civility in you. I challenge you to find my post anywhere which claims Donald Trump is pure as wind driven snow.

In case you are not aware, only God is perfect. And Trump is a mere mortal human being.

So why I support Trump?

1. He has no reason to push for the cheap labor express, which is killing the American middle class. Every other candidates running are career politicians, with uber rich sugar daddies controlling them. Watch with your own lying eyes, Teddy pushing for path to legal status illegals and bring them out of the shadows.

2. Trump is a world class builder. He has built more real things than all 44 presidents combined. No candidate knows how to build a thousand mile long wall better than Trump. Trump has a history of finishing his building projects ahead of schedule and under budget. Not a single candidate running can make that claim. Teddy has never built even an out house.

3. Only Trump will deport ALL legals. All others are on record for some form of amnesty to illegals. This country should never condone law breaking. All laws must be enforced. The existing law stipulates deportation of illegals.

4. Trump was the first candidate with courage to say anchor babies are not citizens.

5. Trump is the only candidate who brought up the issue of Trillion dollar foreign trade deficits EVERY YEAR. And is the only candidate who has actually done foreign trade personally on all 5 continents. The foreign trade deficits are the main reason middle class jobs have gone to China, and other countries.

Arguments that have been proven false keep popping up about Cruz' ability to win.

Why is that I and a "yuge" number of others, would not trust Cruz as far as we could spit on him. I can spit pretty far if I have such a good target.

I'll tell you what, when I came up a preacher's kid had a bad reputation and I see the same dubious quality in Mister Ted Cruz.

If I can see it, others can too. It has been said, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Cruz can NOT win the general, GOD forbid he gets the nomination! It is IMPOSSIBLE for him to beat ANY Dem!

You or understand politics at all, are a political naif who didn't even know when the N.Y. primary is held, nor ANYTHING at all about the primary process and you want US to believe you, when you claim that Cruz can win? Come on....don't pull that on here; you'll just be laughed off the site!

Don't believe that "unfavorability" stuff! Those polls are downright silly! So are the ones that state that Trump can't beat Hillary, but that Ted can. Neither are in the least bit factual/true.

You seem to need to talk about Trump who is a private citizen. He has to pay off the politicians to do business it appears. You know those donor ‘super-pacs’. Trump has ripped open the election process exposing politicians indebted to the donors first. Quite the education of our political process.

Cruz has some strange donors, given his Christian costume.

This just happened... I have no memory of any presidential candidate using their free media time to encourage the citizens of this nation to call their representatives to override obamas veto. It is just plain odd the silence all around as this vote was to take place.

Why the silence? I have come to the conclusion that ‘pro-life’ is a slogan that candidates run on and once in office have to trade off their campaign promises to fulfilled their big money donors demands. That March to Life seems more important than actually pulling the funding plug on taxpayer funded abortions.

The idea that Trump a real estate mogul can be compared to a US sitting Senator, life time government employee is remarkable. We do not need more legislation... because nobody is willing to enforce existing legislation. Well except selectively.

I have NO trust in career politicians. And I have yet to make up my mind whether or not Trump is trustworthy... But he sure is ripping off the puss filled scabs that is our corrupt government politicians. Time will tell if he ends up on my primary ballot.

No, it does not put Cruz is the “naturalized” bucket. If you are a citizen at birth, you are not “naturalized” at birth. You are just a citizen. Period.

This argument is getting tiring. It has been tried in various forms going back to the Presidency of Chester A. Arthur and has never held water with any controlling authority.

If you are born American, you are eligible for the Presidency. Don’t agree? Take it to court.

Cruz is NOT a NBC and even HE stated, correctly, that a NBC must have BOTH PARENTS AS AMERICAN CITIZENS at the time of the child's birth, years ago, when interviewed.

He has lately changed his story and LIED about it all.

The "it" you are referring to is the WKA decision. You cited a snippet of it, which is essentially meaningless without more context.

the Supreme Court states that the U.S. Constitution recognizes two, and only two (<-- The words in the decision) forms of citizenship: citizenship by naturalization and citizenship by birth.

All that does is establish two buckets. There is no definition of "citizenship by birth." Everybody in the world is born. Are they all citizens of the US by birth? No.

The WKA decision says more than what you chose to present. The quote that you pull out to mislead the reader comes from the following context:

The Fourteenth Amendment of the Constitution, in the declaration that
all persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside,
contemplates two sources of citizenship, and two only: birth and naturalization. Citizenship by naturalization can only be acquired by naturalization under the authority and in the forms of law. But citizenship by birth is established by the mere fact of birth under the circumstances defined in the Constitution. Every person born in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, becomes at once a citizen of the United States, and needs no naturalization. A person born out of the jurisdiction of the United States can only become a citizen by being naturalized

That there are two buckets is an observation about the 14th amendment. It, the 14th amendment, defines two mutually exclusive groups of citizens.

Of those two 14th amendment buckets, which is Cruz in (if any!)? He's not in the first one, so he must be in the second one.

Let me clue you into the fact that while I may be new to the forum here, I have had many tours of duty elsewhere so you can cease trying to throw your weight around, Chris Christie, before you give yourself a heart attack. The only thing laughable here are the zombie Trumpeteers that are ready to stab conservatives in the back faster than David Brock for recognizing Trump has less conservative cred than Charlie Crist (who he contributed to as well).

The melodramatic and harrowing accusations about lies, tricks and smears are about as credible and silly as Clinton’s B Team trying to explain the implosion of her campaign all in an effort to disguise the fact that Trump’s Seinfeld candidacy has produced about as much substance as a Hollywood starlet trying to talk gun control. You’re firing blanks at this point and I’m in no mood to play dead.

If you want a bone to pick, I’ll throw you a few: Trump hit the lowest bar possible in modern political history by explaining his healthcare plan as “something terrific” and only offering dazzling clues like his suggestions that its “un-republican,” ensures “everyone,” and the Federal Government will pay (i.e., taxpayers). Of course those who don’t feel a tingle up our leg, as you do, recall that Trump supports socialized medicine. I’ll let Trump explaing who he likes to “hang with,” - “I’ve always had a good relationship with Nancy Pelosi. I’ve never had a problem.” Accordingly, that also includes Harry Reid, Chuck Schumer, and none other than Hillary Clinton whom he courted for years and cut a $100,000 check to the Clinton Foundation. That also includes Al Sharpton and free office space for Jesse Jackson. Like Andrew Breitbart said, “..Of course, he’s not a conservative. He was for Nancy Pelosi, before he was against Nancy Pelosi.” The only thing crooked here is bashing conservatives for rejecting the coronation process for a registered Democrat that gave $50,000 to Rahm Emanuel and contributions to John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, and Charles Rangel. Your candidate has set a new record surpassing Hillary Clinton’s 52% unfavorable rating with his own 60% (Ted Cruz i
37%).

As for who leads in flip-flopping, we don’t need to look any further than your candidate’s voter registration and speaking of eligibility, doesn’t Donald’s Trump admission to breaking US Federal Law by knowingly employ illegal aliens make him ineligible? And that’s the boot.

No previous candidates have EVER laid out, in explicit detail, their plans for the future. OTOH, Trump has written several papers on his tax plans and many other topics.

And just WHAT has Cruz offered other than empty words and platitudes and lies? NOTHING!

Your candidate is a two faced master of double speak and who who can not be trusted. In the political realm, he has about the same or less experience than Obama had at the same point in his career. Ted doesn't know if he wants to be a televangelist or rule the world. Frankly, he stinks at both ventures.

You throw stuff at the wall about Trump and hope that the LVs will buy it all. I know all about Trump's past, more than YOU do and also understand what doing business in NYC, N.Y. state, and around the world entails. From THAT vantage point, what you post is both laughable and naive.
