Actually, it really is a rebellion
February 10, 2016 | Jim Robinson

As much as I love Cruz as a conservative, there really is a voter rebellion underway and it may be unstoppable. Despite all the denials, the simple truth is the voters really are fed-up and really are up in arms against the establishment.

Trump's message is exactly what the voters are looking for:

Build the wall, enforce the law, deport them all, slap a moratorium on Muslim immigration, bomb the hell out of ISIS, cut the taxes, cut the spending, cut the regulations, cut the government, cut the bad trade deals, cut the political correctness crap, bring back capital, bring back manufacturing, bring back jobs, get the economy back on track, rebuild the military so no one messes with us and make America great again!

It's a winning message.

The rallies are real.

The pent up anger is real.

The rebellion is real!

GOPe RINOs Bush, Rubio, Kasich, et al, stand no chance whatsoever.

We still have hope for conservative Cruz to pull it out, but this is Trump's Rebellion to lose.

Go, Cruz, GO!!

Go, Trump, GO!!

Either way, we win, they lose.

I believe that only Trump is willing to use the full powers of the presidency (as Obama has) to achieve his desired goals. I believe Cruz is a more consistent conservative, but would be unwilling to wield power to the extent now necessary to fix our problems.

In other words, damn the Constitution? However we ignore the rule of law -- whether through "their" dictator or "our" dictator -- we will lose our Republic and descend into madness. Human nature never changes, and we should remember that it wasn't very long before Robespierre's guillotine took his own head. Principles matter.

Nothing shows how polarized our country has become as much as the candidacies of Trump and Sanders. The supporters of both are strongly passionate about them. But the similarities stop there.

Trump’s message resonates with everyone who expects to be rewarded for their hard work.

Sanders’ message resonates with everyone else who expects to be rewarded just for existing.

And that’s a heck of a divide.

We bust their ass with Trump and then we bust their ass again with Cruz.It will probably take more than 2 times for them to get the message.Demorats are hard headed that way.

Adding one more reason;

Cruz is no match for political correctness.

Trump is and has proven it time and time again.

If we don’t defeat the evil that is Political Correctness, we will never accomplish a damn thing.

I am not opposed to Trump if it comes down to him vs the GOP candidate.

However, what does concern me is, where was this Donald Trump when he ran in 2012? If these are his core beliefs, why was he not speaking this way then? Did he just learn from that loss and is more adept at reading the anti-gov’t sentiment of the country than the more established politicians?

He has donated heavily to Democrats. He has spoken against full 2nd Amendment gun rights, he has said he is more for Universal Health Care than going back. He has waffled on how he would handle Muslim immigrants.

These are troubling indicators, but its going to work out the way it was meant to be and it will be an interesting next few years.

The only thing Trump has to do as President is keep his word and build that wall, build up our Military, deport muslimes and stop immigration of muslimes.

Then we can work out the social issues.

Trump/Cruz

Ya see. It’s not about anger, it’s recognition. The peasants recognize what’s been going on all this time and now it’s time to collect the bill!

I’m just grateful we have two potentially great presidents in the two top candidates. We have not been in this good a political shape in far too long. The possibility of taking the establishment down a few pegs, maybe disabling them is very real.

Donald Trump is my first choice for all the things you say but Ted Cruz is still my backup just in case Trump goes off the rails. Last night, Cruz effectively finished number 2 because Kasich isn't going anywhere after NH. I hope that Trump and Cruz are no. 1 & 2 from here on out and that the establishment candidates are completely boxed out.

Yes, it certainly is a rebellion. And the stakes are high because the other side is going to offer up either a criminal liar or an outright socialist. Nominating another RINO will likely finish us off as a nation. We need a revolutionary and hopefully we can accomplish it at the ballot box this November with either Trump or Cruz - maybe even both of them sharing a ticket. Could still happen.

I think the wall is the simplest of matters

It is... to someone who knows how to build things, to see a project through from conception to completion.

I like the way you have framed the situation and agree with your assessment of the candidates. Despite the problems we face, I haven't given up on constitutional government. We may at some point have to fight fire with fire, but there is great danger in unchecked executive power, whether it is from the left or right. If I had to have one or the other, I would take the one from the right, but I would rather have a strong constitutional executive.
