It’s on: New Cruz ad ridicules Trump as fake Republican
Hot Air ^ | February 10, 2016 | ED MORRISSEY

Like Donkey Kong. Ted Cruz scored a surprising third-place finish in New Hampshire in yesterday's first-in-the-nation primary, and now it looks like he's going for a knockout before South Carolina. Cruz tweeted out the campaign's latest web ad after his victory, one that takes aim at the winner, Donald Trump. The ad depicts children playing with their new "Donald Trump action figure," and says what he does most is "pretend to be a Republican"...

It's a tour de force of counter-Trump arguments. The ad manages to mention Trump's friendship with Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid (and adds in a shot at Anthony Weiner, too). Bailouts and Too Big To Fail get mentioned, but it's Trump's support for eminent domain that gets most of the attention (video):

You don’t understand that the government has tons of energy policy right up to a strategic petroleum reserve? It’s an issue of national security.

Casinos, not in the slightest. They should be outlawed everywhere as far as I’m concerned. They damage people while billionaires like Trump get rich off of their suffering.

Was it telling in the case of the Rangers stadium?

I just don't believe many voters make the negative connection. Some do, for sure, but not many.

If it's Trump vs Sanders America has a clear choice to make.

Yes -- Do we want a "progressive" or an out-and-out socialist?

I’ve been saying for some time now that Ted is not who his supporters see him as. His supporters were so focused on Trump, they couldn’t see Ted for who he was/is.

Sooner or later reality is going to set in. It isn’t going to be a happy moment.

LOL. So you think that was a Cruz lie. Tell me, when DT called Cruz a liar many times can you explain what he meant? Never figured that out.

Ted Cruz was born in Canada to a mother who was an American citizen, and a father who was a Cuban citizen.

Right now, there are hundreds, maybe thousands, of women who are American citizens living in hostile muslim countries, breeding with the sub-human savages who are hell-bent on destroying human civilization, including the USA.

If Ted Cruz is eligible to become president, then so would be any of the half-human savage spawn of the above couplings.

This is precisely the sort of foreign influence the founders meant to avoid with the Natural Born Citizen requirement for president.

No, supporting the pipeline does not mean ED abuse is OK. But, point being is Cruz supported the same concept with Keystone.

Trump is right about eminent domain. There would be no interstate highways, airports or oil pipelines without it.

Absolutely undeniable.

But the gray area Trump has exploited is very much debatable. If not in the legal sense, in the ethical and moral sense.

Trump supports eminent domain strictly for private use which is different that eminent domain for public use which highways, airports, pipelines, power lines etc. fall under.

Why should D Trump be allowed to take your land for his personal use simply because his personal use will bring in more tax money than your personal use does?

Taken it to it’s logical conclusion anyone with a tax exemption on their home because of their age could be moved out of their home because someone younger wanted their home and because of their age would pay more in taxes for the exact same property.

A farmer could have his property taken because D Trump wanted to build a golf course and a golf course would bring in more tax revenue than ag. exempt property.

Trump believes your property belongs to you as long as someone like him with more money than you doesn’t want it.

If Trump gets the nomination, I think the MSM will beat him to death with his mafia connections. And if it’s Sanders he’s running against, expect a lot of stories about Trump pal-ing around with pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, too. Nothing will be off limits to them.

Trump is damaged goods. Too easy of a target.

Talk about posting meaningless junk. That’s all you do on this site. As I’ve said to you before, you are about the dumbest person on the site. I actually can’t think of anyone dumber at the moment. Seriously.

Don’t forget PAC $$ spent by CRuz and other PAC paid candidates, for ads, etc. Their actual cost/vote is much higher, when that (real) cost is factored in.

I'm sure the Railroad Tracks that Obama’s buddy uses for his Rail Tanker Cars to ship Oil from Canada today were built using Eminent Domain.

Unless those are Amtrak Tanker Cars, a Private Entity benefited from Eminent Domain.

Does the Government use Eminent Domain to take vast swathes of Land from the States to create Federal Lands like Clinton did in Utah to stop Coal Mining?

This will not be a defining issue for the 2016 Presidential Race IMHO, but you all can just knock yourselves out.

Any candidate gets two kinds of voters — those who vote for you because they’re for you and those who vote for you because they’re against the other person.

Cruz regularly presents his vision, his plans, his principles, his ideas. He also presents himself as the not-Trump candidate for those who simply want to vote against The Don.

The argument is simple: “If you don’t want Trump to be the nominee, come to me. I’m the one candidate who could beat him.”

I approve of eminent domain for public projects, but only when reasonable efforts at a purchase fail. I always disapprove of eminent domain for private projects. If you want a casino, a mall, or some other business development, either pay the price asked, build somewhere else, or build around the reluctant seller.

I was disgusted with Kelo when it happened and thrilled when the development failed.
