Gawd I love you shot. I almost made it my screen saver but I can’t stand that bitch sooo bad.
Hi there,
What a great thread. I have a question for you regarding part of your post:
“So I have to go with the guy who thinks enough like me, but who can actually accomplish something, as opposed to a guy who thinks almost exactly like me, but so far hasnât done anything. Just my two cents.”
Granted, any conservative in the current Senate was hamstrung by that Criminal Reid’s roadblocks (and outright lies, but that’s another story). Although the GOP retook the Senate majority in 2014, it was only slightly better, with McConnell at the helm. I’d love nothing better than to see him retire (the sooner, the better) before he’s beaten soundly when his seat comes up again.
So I’ll grant you, there’s not a lot for any (R) senator to brag about. But, Cruz does have a strong pro-liberty resume as Solicitor General of Texas, including arguing before SCOTUS eight times and especially winning the Medellin v. Texas case and drafting the amicus brief for Heller.
Unlike bho, he’s got solid accomplishments. All zero did was vote present, refuse to support the Born Alive Act, screw the pooch on his books, and learn just enough about the Constitution to subvert it. :/
You nailed it. I got into a big argument with Cruz supporters on this and they were calling me a socialist.
The problem is the Dems broke it and now how do you fix it without leaving the uninsurable w/o policies. They can no longer qualify so what then?
There is only one solution and nobody is going to go there.
It really is, but more so now than back in the "old days." (FWIW, people erroneously think that Iowa's "first in the nation caucus" goes back to 1846 or some such hoary date. It doesn't.)
That he got beat by an exceptional ground game in IA. . .
Which was maybe not so much a Ted Cruz ground game as the ground game of the existing evangelical power structure within the Iowa GOP, which is still formidable (though often at odds with the moneyed good old boy wing of the Iowa GOP).
If Ted had not been in the running, Huckabee and/or Santorum probably would have split most of his votes, but I'm not sure which of those two would have gotten endorsements from Vander Plaats, etc.
Mr. niteowl77
Thanks, missed him. I hope I catch a re-run.
Agreed...he was weird—maybe just a weird college student...hope so...
would be interesting to watch it again focusing on the creep~~eh while folding laundry or something ;)
Would hope the SS detail will also!!
Rush implied that “well, see. He’s gonna become more liberal if he wins.”
I don’t buy that. He might-—so could Cruz. I have thought this all along: if Trump is invited to give a prepared speech to an organization, as he is all the time, I guarantee he has prepared remarks and doesn’t insult anyone. Likewise if he was president, I seriously doubt he would make ANY off the cuff remarks that would antagonize people he didn’t want to antagonize.
For example, if you heard me teach, I am really wild, say outlandish stuff to get the students engaged, etc. But if I’m asked to give a formal talk to a group, I tailor a speech to that group, and certainly if I’m in a church I speak differently than if I’m at a (say) fraternity.
He is creepy and not believable.
He is NOT "a leader" !
He has NOTHING to show for his slight few years in the Senate.
He's a phony.
His "religious act" is VERY off putting.
He is NOT "brilliant" at all; he is just a good memorizer.
He's BFF with the crazy Glenn Beck.
And last but not least, he doesn't know how to get along with others AND he's a big fat LIAR!

Yes. There’s probably no president within the last 100 years who cares more about his legacy than Trump does. He doesn’t want to “lose face” and fail — at anything. He doesn’t want America to become a Muslim nation; imagine what it would do to his business.
He has everything to lose.
“Looks like Megyn has blood coming out of her Cruz right there.”
Coming out of her Cruz LoL
No wonder we get along. ð
Someone will ID him. Remember how that Lauren B. chick from the Jeb campaign was IDed in a matter of hours.
I’m confident Trump has thought it through. If insurance companies can be nationwide then portability is not an issue.
Speaking of Huck, has he endorsed anyone yet? I know Santorum is backing the Cuban child, but what about Huck? I think Huck will wait to see how things shake out between Cruz and Trump — who’ll be the frontrunner — the day after Super Tuesday. Then he’ll endorse that person. He really, really, really wants a position in anyone’s cabinet.
Yes, I think most intelligent people tailor their speaking to their audience. Very few talk the same way to everyone.
Aww he takes off Valentine’s Day :)
