Hi there,

What a great thread. I have a question for you regarding part of your post:

“So I have to go with the guy who thinks enough like me, but who can actually accomplish something, as opposed to a guy who thinks almost exactly like me, but so far hasn’t done anything. Just my two cents.”

Granted, any conservative in the current Senate was hamstrung by that Criminal Reid’s roadblocks (and outright lies, but that’s another story). Although the GOP retook the Senate majority in 2014, it was only slightly better, with McConnell at the helm. I’d love nothing better than to see him retire (the sooner, the better) before he’s beaten soundly when his seat comes up again.

So I’ll grant you, there’s not a lot for any (R) senator to brag about. But, Cruz does have a strong pro-liberty resume as Solicitor General of Texas, including arguing before SCOTUS eight times and especially winning the Medellin v. Texas case and drafting the amicus brief for Heller.

Unlike bho, he’s got solid accomplishments. All zero did was vote present, refuse to support the Born Alive Act, screw the pooch on his books, and learn just enough about the Constitution to subvert it. :/

Absolutely he has great creds . . . except for one thing. In the Senate, who has he led? What has he done to show he can lead a rebellion? Who has followed him?

He got Mike Lee on two occasions to stand with him. That’s just not sufficient. A LEADER finds a way to bribe, cajole, promise, trade, intimidate, do what it takes to get a result. For whatever reason, Cruz hasn’t been able to do that. He couldn’t even get genuine conservatives like Sessions or so-called conservatives like Paul or Ernst or Johanns or Tim Scott to stand with him on anything. Yeah, they “endorse” him now-—but when it counted, did they stand with him?

Here is what really sent me over the edge. I heard Mark Steyn subbing on Rush talking about when he gave testimony to Cruz’s “global warming” committee. Now, here is a chance to REALLY blow up a major leftist issue. Cruz is in charge of the committee.

So how many Republicans did Cruz get to attend Steyn’s hearing?

Zero. I found that shocking, and especially telling about Cruz’s ability to accomplish anything. If you, as committee chairman, can’t get YOUR OWN PARTY to buy in to this position and support you, how exactly are you going to rally the American people?

Cruz also won cases that were NOT in CONSERVATIVES' interests at all.

He's all talk and no do, including outright LIES ( TPA ), which he voted for and then decided to LIE about the reason he voted for it. And, if THAT wasn't enough, dragged in someone else to LIE and lie about Ted's LIE.

He's a little man who yearns to be a big SOMEBODY in politics, but is rotten at it.

He has one "talent" only....memorizing stuff.

He has lousy judgement where people are concerned, has NO "people skills at all", and until this year, he managed to hide his true self better and we didn't REALLY know much about him. Now we do.
