Rapper DMX, who once rapped that he "hate[s] cops" and sang about murdering them, was revived by police officers in New York on Monday after falling unconscious due to a suspected drug overdose.
According to TMZ, DMX, real name Earl Simmons, was found unconscious in a parking lot at a Ramada Inn in Yonkers, New York, Monday evening. The rapper reportedly had no pulse and was not breathing, and police immediately began administering CPR.
The rapper reportedly began breathing again after about a minute of CPR. When a witness told police on scene that DMX had ingested an unidentified powder prior to collapsing, they gave him the drug overdose antidote Narcan. The rapper reportedly became semi-conscious and was taken to a hospital for further treatment.

The rapper Common has a main part in the series “Hell on Wheels” and has done a pretty good job.
Some of these guys do have some acting talent, they have to because rap isn’t singing, it’s acting.

I know you were expressing humor but just in case you had not heard; The Red Cross said a few years ago that mouth to mouth respiration has little additional benefit to life saving. Chest compressions are sufficient.
So if I ever need to provide CPR I intend to skip the mouth to mouth even if I have a partner.
I figure I will save my energy for the chest compressions and avoid the possibility of disease transmission or possible patient regurgitation in to my mouth (my brother who was an EMT says it is fairly common during CPR).
Maybe Sheriff Arpaio and Lawman Seagal put DMX on the better path.
