Watching the Sunday talk shows, if I didn't "know" that Jeb Bush was considered washed up, I would have thought the other campaigns saw him as a real force in Tuesday's balloting.
On ABC's "This Week," both Donald Trump and Marco Rubio laid into Jeb. Trump countered Bush scoring points on him in a Saturday night debate exchange on eminent domain. Rubio, meanwhile, felt the need to get to the right of Bush on abortions during "crisis pregnancy" scenarios.
Bush has been left for dead by pundits in recent weeks and months. The seeming front runner status he enjoyed early in 2015 a memory, it's almost as if there has been a re-calibration and now the pundits underrate him.
We've seen the stories about donors waiting for the green light to jump ship from his campaign. The conventional wisdom is that they would, perhaps, move to Rubio, heir apparent to the establishment line.
A funny thing happened at Saint Anselm College, though. The big losers of Saturday's New Hampshire debate were Rubio, nailed by Chris Christie for his repeated recitations of his 25 second anti-Obama speech. And Trump, whose only play was attacking the booing crowd.

“If the GOPe somehow finds a way to hand him the nomination, over 30 million voters will stay home, and the Democrat will cruise to victory.”
And the really sad part of that statement is that the GOPe would prefer to have a RAT for the next four and maybe even 8 years than to have an “outsider” like Trump or Cruz as president. In order for the country to survive, the GOPe must be destroyed. They are worse than Jihadists in terms of the level of real damage they have done to this country.
Will GM resurrect the Vega?
The last thing America needs right now is hubris and denial. We need CLARITY, TRUTH, AND RUTHLESS HONESTY! Not people who, despite good intentions, are in denial and are unable to understand what's going on.
......WILL JEB BUSH BE NEW COMEBACK KID?.......
No.
Not only no, but #@(# NO!!
People are tired of being manipulated by the mass media, the political machines and those who fund them. Jeb may be a perfectly decent guy, but I think that relatives of former leaders elevated by the system are looked upon with suspicion.
Hillary has the same problem, but less competition.
If it comes down to Trump or Jeb and Jeb wins, the country is finished. Hillary and the rats will eat Mr. Nice guy for lunch.
Don’t think of it as only polling 2%. Think of it as 98% of the voters are friends he just hasn’t met yet.
The stacked audience at the NH debate, the GOP and Christie did their best to KO Rubio so Yeb can move up to second in NH. If ilegal immigration is your top issue, Trump is the safest bet. He’s the only one who went above and beyond and took the heat from the world on the issue.
Sure. Like a Compassionate Conservative zombie from the grave.
We don’t.
You work for La Raza or the Chamber of Commerce? Can't believe anybody on this forum would admit to supporting a Kennebunkport Bush. Embarrassing.
Not just no but HELL NO!!!. He's never going to be the nominee, he's a bad candidate at the worst possible time (for his kind of badness).
He needs to save himself for Florida to help split the vote with Rubio.
Then he can get out.
Folks in N.H....just might vote for Jeb Bush, we would all wake up then.
"El es muy stupido."
Not only that, but when you quoted me, you omitted the rest of my post where I said I'd support even Trump over Bush. So I'm not quite sure what your problem is.
No! He won’t.
Yebbie needs to STOP talking about making illegals and any resident of a 3rd world hellhole into a US citizen...
It’s NOT his country to give away anymore than it’s Hillary’s to sell...
What’s the matter with these elites?
I do not think Jeb Bush is a nice guy. Do not confuse weakness with goodness or “niceness.” The Terri Schiavo tragedy was no small thing. He and his brother, the ONLY two people in the world, who could have saved her, utterly failed her and her family; in fact they failed all of us, and they did so for political expediency. Had Jeb done what was necessary to save Terri, had been willing to sacrifice his career, or lose his political office, he might indeed have been the man who could save this country. But he is not. He is a failure. God has raised up another to do, if we have the wisdom to see it.
