Maybe you've heard or read somewhere that all kinds of terrible disasters will happen if the (global mean surface) temperature rises just 2â°C above the pre-industrial level; according to some datasets, we are already more than halfway there. Further, activists want to lower the threshold to 1.5â°C -- thus advancing the date of the "apocalypse."
Note, however, that these same activists never bother to define "mean temperature" or tell you how to measure it -- if indeed that makes sense. Temperatures vary not only geographically, mainly with latitude and altitude, but also with season, time of day, and weather conditions.

1. Define the "correct" temperature range for the planet.
2. Define the "correct" humidity range for the planet.
3. Define the "correct" mean sea level for the planet.
4. Define the "correct" amount of precipitation for the planet.
5. Define the "correct" makeup of the atmosphere.
6. Define the "correct" amount of sea ice at the N/S poles.
7. Define/explain past glaciation and subsequent warming without any input from humans.
When warmunists are presented with these items......crickets. Or claims that I'm a ......DENIER!!!
If “global warming” resulted in milder winters in Canada, Northern Europe, and Siberia, the result would be better agricultural production, which would make warming a thing to be desired.
Actually, it's quite simple. You just insert the thermometer in Flint, MI.
Apparently the probe would rot off or melt if it touches the water anywhere in the area.
What type of thermometer? And how do you tell the difference?
(Apart from taste)
It will always be the “Chicken Little” approach to “Global Warming”.
As I understand it, if the earth warms 2C they still won’t be able to farm in Greenland as they did during the MWP.
Amen.
Who are WE to say what temperature, etc. the earth should be? How arrogant is that? For all the lamenting about how we treat the earth as ours (humans) exclusively, this is how the environmentalist treat the earth. It is theirs and they get to set the rules of nature, for now and all of time, to fit human preferences and comfort.
Again, how arrogant is that?
Oh, OK, a rectal thermometer!
