Zodiac Killers Identity MAY be......The BTK killer.
SOTT ^ | 2/6/16 | Chris Summers

Ms McGath has been studying links between the two killers for two years, especially the letters they both wrote, and she told Daily Star Online : "There are just so many similarities between Zodiac and BTK."

She said the authorities ruled out a link because of a "general alibi" assuming Rader was serving in the US air force in Japan at the time of Zodiac's crimes. But she said he could easily have travelled back to California to carry out the killings and she points out in her book how close many of the killings were to air force bases.

She lists dozens of similarities in handwriting styles, phrases used and military terminology, as well as phrases like "consternation" and "glorification" which are unique to Lutheran sermons. Rader was president of his local Lutheran church. Both killers referred to "the game" and "hunting" and both used the same ruse to try to calm victims.

Your bullet points 1 and 5; control and changing weapons; in all fairness, at Lake Berryessa the Zodiac did control the victims. And he used a knife instead of a gun.

That said, I believe the Zodiac will be the same as every other serial killer; a pathetic loser that nobody has ever heard of.

Another little note, I believe the Zodiac case will be solved some day. Notice how science is getting better and better at DNA. They identified the Grim Sleeper from his sons DNA. And every day more and more people are having their DNA recorded in government databases. I think the day will come when you will be able to enter the Zodiacs DNA into a database and a computer will respond with his name, address and Social Security number. Of course, he’ll probably be dead by then.

Interesting.

When was the last famous serial killer - it seems like it's been awhile.

Now it seems to be school shootings.

I wonder if if they changed the fluoride formula in the drinking water? (Or newer pharmaceuticals.)

Okay - the net has everything! 25 to 30 serial killers at the moment. Yikes!

True, but I don't believe that this demonstrates that control was part of his ritual; it most certainly was part of Rader's; AND there are some things about the Lake Berryessa attack that are quite strange and very difficult to fit into the oeuvre of Zodiac's "work."

It isn't uncommon for a serial to use both a knife and a gun. It is pretty uncommon for an impersonal killer to switch to highly personal, [usually] highly sexualized methods [ligature, suffocation, strangulation.] Of course these are brutally twisted people, and anything is possible. But overall, I believe the point stands: on the basis of MO alone, BTK is HIGHLY unlikely to be Zodiac.

The Process Church connection to Zodiac is not taken seriously by anyone who has really studied the murders, except maybe Maury Terry.

And calling his thesis a "study" is a pretty big stretch.

I’ve done fairly extensive research into Zodiac, and part of that research included taking a serious look at Radar and his crimes. But the two don’t match in criminal signature. Radar liked to “play” with his victims, while Zodiac had very little in the way of interaction with them. But there are indeed elements of both cases that would make one naturally suspect BTK as the perpetrator of the Zodiac crimes. It’s not so farfetched that you can simply toss it aside without analysis.

The Zodiac Killer is Ted Kaczynski of Unabomber notoriety.

Some guy has written a book about it.

"Consternation" is unique to the Lutherans??????

Heck - even "glorification" ain't unique to them.

Probably they get less attention these days because serial killers don’t help the MSM push a major part of the Left’s agenda - unlike school shootings.

I have wondered if the code-cop Rader did his first killings in the Philippines.

Don’t recall if anyone has studied on whether Zodiac was actually more than one scum like the Smiley Face Killers are suspected to be.

You have Sharon Tate’s dad at the Presidio; Satanist Army officer there; Manson and his early haunts in the bay area; the Zebra killings—— a shame that Harry Callahan was not real.

I read an interesting book suggesting it was actually Dr George Hodel, who some have said looks good for the Black Dahlia case as well as others.

“Don’t recall if anyone has studied on whether Zodiac was actually more than one scum...”

See Thomas Horan. He believes that the Zodiac killings were actually unrelated crimes. The police faked a connection and “created” a serial killer in order to, if I recall correctly, get an increase in funding. Or something.

He’s an interesting guy. Amusing. But I don’t think he has solved the Zodiac case.

Huntress, you commented: “But if Rader’s military records place him in northern California....”

Unfortunately, records of him taking military leave in order for him to fly from Japan to California would have been disposed of decades ago. The leave requests are only kept for 2 years, because they are considered temporary records. His pay records may or may not show leave taken during a month, but it would not give the exacts dates he was on leave.
