“His offensive line didn’t help him very much.”

No, but my understanding is the Denver had the #1 Defense in the NFL.

Who was it who said: Offense wins games, Defense wins championships?

Yours has to be the stupidest post I have ever read in my entire time on this forum.

Really? This is the best you could do in response? Then perhaps your post would be the second......

What has happened to civility on this board. He disagrees with you, gives you his reason, and you just say it's a stupid post. I think that defines stupidity much more so than his post.

And for the record, I completely disagree with CurlyDave, that move by Cam was simply a wuss move and could come back to haunt him, that coupled with his post game behavior.

When I watched the replay of him deliberately turning his back on a dropped ball in the 4th quarter and scurrying to safety I thought I had never seen such a blatant act of cowardice.

Cam the Sham...

I liked his dab when he got his 7th sack.

He’ll be back in the Superbowl. Cam will have to grow up. He is a great athlete and deserved the MVP. He got beat by a better team tonight. He is young and immature. Time will take care of that.

I must admit, as a Bama fan, I’m enjoying this a little too much. The only downside is that Manning is an UT alum. Ugh.

Imagine how I feel, Cam is the guy that set Gator football back because of his laptop incident, and his academic fraud he committed there. Would have been nice to have him win the Heisman and the championship at Florida instead of Auburn, and heck, who knows, maybe Urban Meyer would have stayed, instead of us getting stuck with Muschump.

Yeah, I forgot about all that. I don’t blame Gator fans for harboring resentment towards Cam.

What a spoiled, entitled brat.

Cam is what all of us outside of North Carolina knew he was.

I saw the replay in slow mo and it looked like when he planted his right foot his knee gave way a little and he eased up. I dunno though, sure doesn’t look like a decent effort. I am just glad I didn’t have to try to tackle him. He’s a big boy.

Come on - class is class and Manning has it just like I said Henry had it after winning the heisman this season.

I am a UT fan, but I can appreciate great players who ARE good role models.

One of the rivals boards had a photoshop of a laptop instead of a ball on that play. Pretty funny stuff.

Cam will be back - he had a great season and really improved in many ways as a QB this season. Still struggles with pressure, but all of them do and that Denver defense tonight played lights out. That was an insane pass rush, but more importantly they mostly kept containment on a very mobile QB.

Think the NFL has to be disappointed in the press conference. I know Carolina was disappointed, but act like a man!

Risk losing a franchise player? Or maybe ... retain a slim (at best) chance at the Super Bowl?

Integrity is like that. You either give your all, or you don't. And he's supposed to be the leader of a team giving their all.

Well he's not, and now his team knows it. What's that do to his franchise value?

You’re right. Peyton Manning has shown class & is an incredibly talented player. Congrats to him, he has earned it.

"He was terrible at the after game press conference. In fact, he walked out."

Because he was about to start blaming his teammates and pointing fingers at his coaches. Bank on it.

"The coaching staff refused to improvise and adapt, every offensive play was Cam dropping back and trying to connect for a 20-40 yard reception."

It looked like he had trouble making himself heard, and without the cadence of his goofy long snap calls, key plays like his read option were off.

But hell when Denver blitzed both safetys in the first quarter I knew my money was good...

I was really looking forward to the post game, and hearing Cam Newton graciously congratulating Manning and the Broncos. I want to like him as a player, and he could have done himself a tremendous amount of good by simply being polite. It speaks volumes that he was unable to turn it off for a few minutes. Who is going to want a sore loser endorsing their product?

I think we have reached Peak Cam Newton.
