How much judging is it to hear the very words of Trump (never asked forgiveness) which is a major tenet of Christianity and taking Trump at his own word? If a pastor asks a person if they have had a personal relationship with Jesus, and they say no, is the pastor wrong in assuming they are headed to hell?

Red Herring (logical fallacy). This isn’t about Trump but Cruz’s comments. I never really mentioned Trump. He is a non issue in this matter. But since you asked...Unlike Cruz who panders to Evangelicals and uses his religion to get votes, Trump identifies as a Presbyterian, not an Evangelical. I know several Presbyterians (esp older ones) who reject the idea of being born again. Furthermore, I know many Christians to don’t think they need to ask for forgiveness. Cruz is using Christ to get votes, Trump isn’t. I don’t believe Trump is Born Again but that is not a requirement to be President. Unlike some of you, I do not confuse my faith with politics. If Trump is like many other nominal Christians I come across daily, he doesn’t know there is an issue. I can say the same for most of those in the race.

The issue with Cruz is he does know but he misuses scripture and takes it out of context. He uses Christ to get votes and that is an insult to my Lord. That is what I take issue with.

Again, many Christians don’t understand or use that terminology. Your error is assuming that all Christians are Evangelical when that is not true. Also, I did say words were a way to judge those who claim to be Christians. Words and actions. I am judging Cruz on his words and actions as well as his proclaimed Dominionist theology.

Why isn’t Cruz praising God in New Hampshire. He sure did in Iowa but is afraid of God in New Hampshire. Could it be that he only uses God when it is politically expedient and really doesn’t believe in God at all? It is certainly possible.
