GOP presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson suggested that the controversy over Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)'s campaign action during the Iowa caucus might be on the minds of voters ahead of the New Hampshire primary on Tuesday.
"I suspect it may well," Carson told Breitbart News. "We were in church this morning and the minister sort of alluded to it, talking about Christian values and politics."
Just ahead of the vote, the Cruz campaign sent out notes and voicemails to precinct captains telling them to tell Carson voters that he would be suspending his campaign and to support Cruz instead. The Cruz campaign has said it only passed along a news report from CNN.
"I've said all along that the evidence is pretty clear and it should be very easy for people to make a judgment on this," Carson said in response to a CNN statement, which it issued Saturday night that said Cruz "knowingly misstated" CNN's pre-caucus report.
"The only issue is, is this acceptable behavior to voters? Obviously, it's acceptable behavior to Washington politicians," he said.
The Washington Post reported Cruz approached Carson during a commercial break during the debate Saturday night and requested a private meeting.
Carson told Breitbart News that he hopes Cruz dismisses the staff that was involved in spreading the false report.
"I would like to see something happen that would more or less ensure that this kind of thing does not continue to happen," Carson explained when asked what he would like to see come out of a private meeting with Cruz.
"I kind of look at it when you find a problem, you fix it, you just don't sort of sweep it under the rug," Carson explained.

It's called innuendo. Trump is good at it.
"I'm not saying anything other than pathological is a very serious disease. And he said he's pathological, somebody said he has pathological disease," Trump said. "It's in the book that he's got a pathological temper," Trump continued. "That's a big problem because you don't cure that."Trump's statements are often hard to decipher, but the insinuation here is fairly clear."You don't cure these people. You don't cure a child molester. There's no cure for it. Pathological, there's no cure for that," he said.
There's nothing to defend. Cruz staffers passed on the CNN story verbatim.
But no one in the media, and no Trump supporters, question CNN.
Until then, we must seek to do the right things on this earth, and that includes Ted Cruz not lying, cheating and invoking the name of Jesus for his ambition. If Carson thinks God wants him to run for president, and Cruz believes the same thing - my goodness, God must be schizophrenic.
Sorry, you don’t have truth on your side. Cruz has railed against the media time after time - how they can’t be trusted, but, by golly, he trusted them in this situation.
And, no, the story wasn’t passed on verbatim. Stop making up facts that don’t exist.
You know what else affects primary voters? Barely showing up to campaign, not bothering to go NH until the day of the debate, and general lethargy and malaise.
Go home while we still like you, Ben.
The thing about apologies is, it has to be apparent by the actions that follow that there is real remorse.
An apology with no follow up action or change of behaviour is easy. It means very little. It’s like someone apologizing for intentionally scratching your car in anger, but not offering to pay for the repair.
Cruz should be firing those who INITIATED the voicemails and text messages instructing his staff to tell everyone that Carson had dropped out and vote for Cruz. I suspect he can’t get to the bottom of how it started, because it likely started with him.
Me too. Used to really like him and now am repulsed.
“Taken at face value, Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz’s latest fundraising pitch to supporters is either impossible, illegal, or a scam.
In an email his campaign blasted out on Tuesday, Cruz wrote: “I just got off the phone with a few very generous supporters who — after our big win in Iowa last night— have pledged huge support for my campaign.”...”
Well, it is politics. It was bad around here in 2012 with the Romney, Newt supporters going after each other. It passed, and this will too.
I agree and know it will pass, but it sure seems that there is more nastiness flowing around. I can get sarcastic and silly and appreciate in others but there is a lot worse than that happening.
He wants the staff that left him and went over to Cruz to be canned sick of Carson.
Ben reports he will be at home. Ted repeats Ben’s statement.
“Ben reports he will be at home. Ted repeats Benâs statement.”
Ben adds that he’s going home for a change of clothes and to beat the snowstorm. Ted reports that he’s quitting the race.
Ben hears of this and posts that he ISN’T leaving the race.
Ted’s people ignore that and quote only the part of the CNN report that seems to support their lie.
Could be. many of us suspect there are paid operatives posting anti-Trump crap and infiltrating the board - otherwise known as Cruzbots.
In case you don’t know, Adventists keep the 7th day Sabbath and believe worshipping on Sunday is the mark of the beast.
Strange Ben would seemingly put political needs ahead of his faith???
You obviously have never met Adventists.
Get it now?

I heard they've got Rove's weather machine and are responsible for Trump getting stuck at home.
