Sunday, February 7, 2016: GOP Presidential candidate Donald Trump will hold a campaign rally in Plymouth, NH at Plymouth State University at ALLWell North. The event is scheduled to begin at 1:00 PM EST.
Trump moves more inland today for an early rally, and again it's at a small venue.
Here's some interesting history.
This was the case in every New England state. The early settlers drove the Indians out physically during the Queen Anne's War. Plymouth was originally the site of an Abenaki village that was burned to the ground by Captain Thomas Baker in 1712.
In 1806, then-lawyer Daniel Webster lost his first criminal case at the Plymouth courthouse, which now houses the Historical Society. The author Nathaniel Hawthorne, while on vacation in 1864 with former U.S. President Franklin Pierce, died in Plymouth at the second Pemigewasset House, which was later destroyed by fire in 1909. In the early 20th century, the Draper and Maynard Sporting Goods Company (D&M) sold products directly to the Boston Red Sox, and players such as Babe Ruth would regularly visit to pick out their equipment.

Your garden sounds beautiful. I’m counting on the granddaughter to help me start new flower bed this spring. Already have a hand made garden stone she crafted at Christmas. Will attempt tree roses this year.
An article I read last summer said we could thank uncle John for radiation in hospitals but also radar used in military during WWII. Think of ALL the lives his research has saved.
And modestly Trump just says “he was a professor at MIT.
Lots of work to get mine caught up. Had six rounds of antibiotic last year and couldn’t get out in sun. Spider bite.
Oh, we must. :-)) We’ve raccoon’s, squirrels, little bunnies, lots of birds (painted buntings, cardinals, sparrows, hummingbirds, scissor tails, crows, blackbirds, herons, ducks) coyotes, skunks, armadillos, snakes, ticks, fleas, and chiggers; just to name a few of the wild life. The deer we waited 30 years to see. Really, everyone told us there were deer near, but these were never seen. Only in the past 2 or 3 years have they ever made it this far to introduction. Your lily of the valley plants are highly envied. Since I had such terrible luck with them; moved on to tall bearded iris. They grow fairly well here with advance soil preparation. They offer a rainbow of color. The downside - Their bloom time is only a few weeks and when it’s over, it’s over until the following year. There are re-bloomers which have been introduced which bloom again in fall but these are in no way as pretty nor reliable bloomers.
Even though his Uncle John is the one who did such marvelous things, many another man would take credit for them, because he was part of the family.
:-))
And really, only someone else who has been bitten by one of those, can understand just how bad they are ! At least we survived the bite! :-)
I’m pretty sure I heard him kind of mumble it as he took his podium.
Licorice spit spit spit :-)) Never cared for the black sweet. Better was the red and not certain that this is really licorice. LOL would rather eat Ex-Lax chocolate than chew Black Jack gum. Strange because fennel seed is not bad and do on occasion add it to foods.
He mumbled it as he took his podium, kind of as a joke but he might have felt it. I can check the beginning again. I didn’t read it anywhere.
See you all tomorrow. Lots of event. Headed out to do errand etc. May miss one or two.

I live in the wilds ( well, it's exurbia ) too and while I don't mind the birds ( except for the red crested woodpeckers, who invariably think the house is another tree, so peck at it or a shutter early in the AM ), I DO very much mind almost all of the bugs and critters...except the beautiful red fox family who live out back by the pine trees. But the damned deer are THE worst! They eat what supposedly they can't, eat almost everything else, and carry ticks that can REALLY harm people!
I love the bearded irises, but my Japanese irises multiply so much and so rapidly, I have no room for the other kind.LOL
Oh childhood memories...loved the cherry and the chocolate licorice ! :-)
Good night, my friend; sleep well !
:-)) LOL Those two are movers and shakers!
Afraid Texas is not the lone star it was at one time. We’ve our own liberal spots here as well. Fortunately, there are a number of miles between us and them. As of now, to find a true Native Texan is very difficult. We’ve so many who have moved in from other states -north, east and west; not to mention Mexico.
If you should ever be in Oregon and close to Silverton, or Salem, swing by there and see a beautiful garden in bloom. Cooley’s Iris Garden in Silverton and Schreiners Iris Garden in Salem. And if you love flowers of many colors an afternoon tour you would really enjoy. Every year their catalogs would be received and I’d drool over the photos like a child looking at the toys in the Sears Christmas catalog.
Still longing for springtime:-)) and counting the days!!
Brown recluse? Sounds horrible enough to be one of those darn things.
I was bitten through long pants and knee socks in my shin. And no, you do NOT even want to know just how sick one gets from such a bite, or that you can lose a limb from it, if not treated quickly enough.
