Christy has a good addiction plan but its a state issue except 4 the border
I respectfully disagree. As an example, I know of a small nearby town where the average 24 hour shift for paramedics are made up of at least five to seven heroin ODs. These are billed to the town at a rate of $300, plus materials PER CALL. Every day. Roughly costing this 40,000 person town about $600,000 a year. This is before heart attacks, accidents, etc.
Now, multiply that by every city, town, or village on the East Coast of the US.
Mexican Cartels are pumping this stuff across the border. We should be working with Mexico to stop this trafficking, or we need to stop it ourselves. And I do mean drone attacks, special ops, etc.
People are all worked up because ISIS has killed 30-40 people in this country. Cheap, potent, and accessible Heoin is killing that many suburban kids every day. A hit of heroin is cheaper than a joint.
It is a silent crises that we need to address. These are not the junkies of our youth. This crap is happening in urban, suburban, rich, and poor neighborhoods.
And we do nothing about it.
