Who's funding this pro-Ted Cruz super PAC?
CNN ^ | February 6, 2016 | Theodore Schleifer

Posted on 02/06/2016 1:14:48 PM PST by Jane Long

Manchester, New Hampshire (CNN)A super PAC spending millions of dollars to bash Ted Cruz's Republican rivals is shielding the names of many of its top donors and strategists, accepting and directing donations through a particularly high number of hard-to-trace companies, new documents reveal.

Stand for Truth, Inc., an emerging player in the orbit of often clashing constellation of pro-Cruz super PACs, recently pledged to air more than $4 million in television ads to back Cruz in Iowa and South Carolina. Super PACs can accept unlimited contributions but are required to disclose their financial backers.

The twist here is that Stand for Truth has accepted more than $1 million in donations from corporations or limited liability companies, whose funders are difficult to uncover, meaning the original source of the campaign cash is hidden. While corporations can make donations to super PACs, an LLC allows individual donors to steer cash through easy-to-register, self-owned organizations.

"LLCs seem to be a new vehicle for laundering money into elections," said Paul Ryan, a campaign finance reformer worried about donors essentially using them as shell companies to transfer cash anonymously. "It's really hard to find out about LLCs. That's one of the reasons they've become popular."

Stand for Truth has largely operated quietly, not responding to questions about new television advertisements from media .....

SNIP

.....No leadership beyond the treasurer who filed its federal elections forms, a former counsel to Mitch McConnell named Eric Lycan, has publicly identified itself. Lycan has not responded to repeated requests for comment from CNN about the group's activities, and he declined to talk by phone this week. He did say in an email on Friday that the group was run by "consultants from across the country committed to electing a courageous conservative as our next President."

“Now, if you want to talk McConnell connections, we can discuss Trump donations to his campaign and his praise about how he can work with him as Senate leader if you wish? “

As opposed to NOT being able to work with him? Trump has NEVER said he would compromise his positions, he said he can work with them and out negotiate them and any president better be able to! Ted Cruz can’t get along with anyone and is the first to compromise! He’s a con artist lawyer. Now he’s getting $$ from places he won’t disclose. You’re being used.

Good point, Aunt B....

United States Chamber of Commerce doesn't ever disclose who they are donating to, they say they don't have to...unusual I think...

Let’s see: nothing illegal charged here, and the nefarious “McConnell staffer” is FORMER, not current, which suggests that he jumped ship to support someone he actually admires.

CNN’s high dudgeon over relatively small-potato Cruz PACS is laughable, considering its utter disinterest in the Clinton Foundation behemoth of blatant corruption.

Can we please stop trashing our own at the Establishment’s slightest bidding?

I wouldn’t be a bit surprised to find Soros money in this particular battle somewhere. Soros knows he has to keep Trump from the presidency. Trump is the only one who can handle that nasty evil old man.

Are COC/Open Border PACs...for a Presidential campaign....the ‘spirit of Christ’?

Looks like your ‘Holier than thou’ meme has FAILED, again.

It is a simple question that I have now asked 3 times.

Why is Cruz hiding where this PAC money came from?

Why isn’t he demanding to know who these hidden donors are?

The article is what it is. You insinuating Cruz and McConnell are in touch is what I was disputing.

And since you are denying you even typed it then yes, back to the substance.

Trump donated money to McConnell for his run against a bona-fide Conservative.......and then praised him for bringing the pork home to Kentucky.

Not relevant?

Well then, support Bernie. He’s gonna break up all those evil banks along with all the evil capitalism roaring its ugly, powerful head. This stuff from the Cruz campaign is nothing compared with Hitlary and Obummer. they use our tax money and gov’t officials for their dirty tricks.

Oh,my what a tangled web we weave!

[snip]

It’s a pro-Ted Cruz Super-PAC. The filing above also shows they spent $42,000 to create digital advertising for Ted Cruz, and...

.....wait for it...

..... spent $192,594.00 for “RADIO ADVERTISING”.

It makes a person wonder which radio broadcasters might have picked up some of that Pro-Ted Cruz advertising money?

...and maybe that explains why THIS seemed to have struck such a nerve.
