He is an extremely poor source for candidate recommendations. Orin Hatch (enough said), Christine (I am not a witch) O'Donnell, Sharon (abolish SS) Angle, and others.
He just gathers a little info about candidates from wherever and jumps to conclusions that someone is the most conservative candidate. Leads to frequent disasters.

Not true. He is a great source. You may not always agree. I don’t always agree. For example, I don’t agree that we vote for the GOP winner no matter what. That’s really what it sounds like you are fussing about. But in the primary he favors the most conservative candidate according to how they present themselves at the time. He is not a mind reader. How could he know Rubio would stab voters in the back with his Gang of Eight deal? When they do that sort of thing, though, Levin calls them out on it.
Representative government is dead if candidates get away with scamming voters.
