The system is so rotten that even Putin isn’t a socialist/Communist anymore. Russia gave it up, more or less, for its own type of free enterprise. ...Wrong. He is just rehashing Lenin’s New Economic Policy, even while nationalizing oil, gas and the media. He has no problem with the CPRF being 20 percent of the Duma, and recently he compared socialist and communist ideals to “the Bible”.
What a whole lot of conservative religious people seem to miss, is that socialism is a case of taking what ought to have been happening in the households of God (and this applies both to Christian and Jewish) ... and endeavoring to do it as Caesar.
A Caesar-church mix has been called for by God in exactly one place — the original Holy Land. And that was under a special holy covenant.
Of COURSE it is going to end up being tragedy. It is idolization of Caesar. The giving which is supposed to be “cheerful” (at least per New Testament, though even Old Testament norms suggest it be done gladly) becomes a cynical game of grudges and corruption.
But anyhow, in hating the perversion, we should embrace a proper reverence for the original thing. Otherwise we only have a system of hate, and that invariably falls off balance.
That’s what happens when you let liberals take over the education system.
I once worked for a guy in Philly who, as usual, called himself a socialist but was, as usual, actually a Communist.Yeah! Get the number right, at least. Putin, the Stalin-rehabilitator, would insist on the same thing.
Over coffee, I said, "But Lou, don't you know that Stalin murdered 90 million of his own people?"

Who can argue with that? ...
Only the very, very highly educated and thus protected are savvy enough to know that all that free stuff is really, really a great thing.
Then, those same intelligentsia are somehow never heard from again once the communists take over.

They use the term democratic socialist now, a term that sounds seductive to the young. It’s based on envy.
That is an interesting point, to bring up the bible.
I’d agree there is a commonality between themes. And the sooner we do that, the better. We have to understand why a falsehood is false.
Russia isn’t a covenant holy land any more than Australia is. The place that Putin should be boosting charitable activity in, is his very own church.
Maybe it wouldn’t be such a bad thing to have Bernie as POTUS, so that people can experience the pain of socialism first-hand. That will cure them of their love of socialism.
So instead of being dependent on the State, they should be dependent on us?

I am for doing good to the poor, but...I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of it.And that is what the USA was all about—that is, until the Marxists came along to seduce the poor into being more poor. People came to the USA to escape the dying feudalism, which merely got reconstituted by the Fabians and Marxists into the state atheism form rather than the church-state form.
I observed...that the more public provisions were made for the poor, the less they provided for themselves, and of course became poorer. And, on the contrary, the less was done for them, the more they did for themselves, and became richer. ...
Then there won’t be a USA and the victory of world communism would be just handed to the socialists. How to fight out from under the international order, then?
If we had to have a land continually in gospel ignorance. But who says it has to be?
Socialism represents a grand concept wrenched completely out of the realm in which God wanted it to exist. Churches, giving voluntarily in holiness and the name of the gospel. God is funny that way; the more you give (in that context) the more you get. And money is the least of it.
What’s funny is that even if Bernie gets elected, he’d be the DNCe’s worst nightmare, they would try to undercut him at every turn to gain back control of the party.
All should be dependent on God, and that in a sharing mood.
I can’t help that you don’t like it. It is in both Old and New Testaments.
Socialism is great, until you actually try it.
At least Lenin was a nationalist. When he adopts Trotsky's version of global communism (like we are being led to), then we'll all really be in trouble.
That’s a very old term. Even Lenin’s Communist Party was originally called the Social Democratic Labor Party of Russia.
That’s the result of not teaching history. Of course, when the state takes over the education, they tend to rewrite history. Even the Manifesto says, “in Communist society, the present dominates the past”; Orwell didn’t make this up for his book “Nineteen Eighty-Four”.
