And nobody confirmed John Roberts on the basis of expecting him to uphold Obamacare, which didn’t even exist then. You’d need one hell of a crystal ball to predict Roberts would vote with the Dems on that one while voting conservative on literally everything else including same-sex marriage.

So Chick-Fil-A and Hobby Lobby deserve no credit for suing Obama and never donating to Democrats? The pearly gates don’t count “increasing your profits” as an excuse for funding the party of Satan. If that was the case, Judas would’ve made it through.

They were in no position to stop it. The reconciliation process (which requires just 51 votes for passage instead of 60) is a well-established process, part of the Budget Act of 1974. The leadership can not be stopped from putting something on reconciliation.

The Republicans won the Massachusetts seat with Scott Brown and had a filibuster proof 41 votes. They caved.

This is flat-out bribery, if he’s giving money to “get things done”. But Trump himself says “I didn’t get anything for it.”

Which means that either he’s the most incompetent negotiator and deal maker there is, or he really wanted to support Democrats.

Trump has given more than $100,000 to the Democratic House and Senate campaign committees. In 2006 -- the year Democrats took back Congress -- he gave $25,000 to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (while his son Donald Trump Jr. gave $22,500). They gave Republican committees just $1,000 that year.

Gee, thanks, Don.

That is correct and I corrected my statement ... at least you know what it’s like to be on the receiving end of Cruz’s wild and baseless assertions

Of course he has. When it comes to politics he has no real convictions, going for whatever benefits him personally at the time. It is one of the reasons I don’t trust him. He may be anti-illegal immigration and pro-gun now, but what happens halfway through his presidency when it would benefit him to change on those issues?

The Koch brothers and George Soros don’t throw money at politicians they disagree with. They have their convictions, right or wrong, and they stick with them. The same can’t be said for Trump.

That’s why Reid used the reconciliation process. Something that’s on reconciliation cannot be filibustered. And there was NOTHING the Republicans could do about it.

They’ve failed us many times — but this is not on the Republicans. What is on them is that they have done nothing to repeal or defund 0bamacare, but have let it continue by default.

Its adoption, however, is squarely on the Democrats. It go ZERO Republican votes.

Most conservatives supported Roberts. Ann Coulter is the rare exception.

Roberts had a pretty conservative record and was a member of the Federalist Society.

He’s obviously compromised.

“Have you been paying attention to your little FReeper Caucus graph lately? LOL!”

While I’m sure DO has, let me refresh everyone’s memory.

The latests data: Trump 60.55%
Cruz 34.40%

That’s about 2 to 1 Trump as I see it. Cruz will be just another Texas fart in a whirlwind in a week, and deservedly so given his proclivity for lying.
