Trump won't rule out Cruz as VP pick
Politico ^

Posted on 02/04/2016 4:30:06 PM PST by springwater13

In a striking reversal of rhetoric, Donald Trump would not rule out Ted Cruz as his hypothetical vice-presidential pick.

"Well, I don"t know. Look, I have nothing against him. It was sort of a sad thing that happened, but I'"ve always liked him," Trump told Hugh Hewitt on his radio show Thursday, after weeks of trashing his primary rival as nasty, hypocritical and disliked.

Trump added that he has "always gotten along well" with Cruz, but that "I'm so much now focused on New Hampshire."

.. Looks like Donald got the message that going scorched earth on Cruz when he poses no threat is counterproductive ...

Yep. Thanks for this very welcome news.

Mark Levin believes he is, so the bottom line is that this could go either way and Cruz needs resolution.

The best ticket would be Trump/Cruz, and if Cruz is found ineligible, Trump can replace him after the election.

Thats why bashing Cruz and his supporters on this forum is not productive. Trump doesn’t want to be POTUS for 8 years and Cruz as a VP would open the door for him to be POTUS in 2020.

We’re not against Trump in general; we’re only against the notion that he would make a good President. He should stick with licensing his name, like Coco Chanel or Ralph Lauren.

“and a declaratory judgement requires a lawsuit with a plaintiff and a defendant.”

Actually it doesn’t... Look it up on Wikipedia. However, it has to be done before a suit is filed and one has. So it’s too late for that.

.
Congress says Cruz is eligible.

Settled law, as per constitutional authority.

He’s said Cruz would need some kind of court ruling for him to consider him. But I wouldn’t hold my breath. Truth is Trump generally says he would “consider” anything. Nothing wrong with that.

Wow. What on Earth is Cruz going to do if he gets the nomination? I can see it now he gets the nomination and he is found ineligible.

Doesnt pertain to the vice president..I think. Havent looked into that though.

I believe it was Chester Arthur who was vice president and took over after the death of his CIC. Arthur was rumored to be from? Yup you guessed it Canada.

BTW, Arthur banned Chinese from immigrating into the USA for ten years.

No, I still say he is ineligible, but I have also said I would vote for him if nominated because nobody seems to care. Obama was ineligible, nobody cares.

Donald could use the Illinois ruling and claim that Cruz did what Trump wanted all along...

Looks like Donald forgot to tell Ellie Mae Palin the new talking points.

Trump will turn on Palin in a heartbeat as soon as he thinks it will benefit him.

I think the Donald is just having a good time with it. I’d be shocked if he still wants Cruz at this point. Who wants to have to look over their shoulder all the time?
