Trump won't rule out Cruz as VP pick
Politico ^

Posted on 02/04/2016 4:30:06 PM PST by springwater13

In a striking reversal of rhetoric, Donald Trump would not rule out Ted Cruz as his hypothetical vice-presidential pick.

"Well, I don"t know. Look, I have nothing against him. It was sort of a sad thing that happened, but I'"ve always liked him," Trump told Hugh Hewitt on his radio show Thursday, after weeks of trashing his primary rival as nasty, hypocritical and disliked.

Trump added that he has "always gotten along well" with Cruz, but that "I'm so much now focused on New Hampshire."

Cruz would never accept such an offer. He would go back to the U.S. Senate to fight against Donald Trump’s leftist agenda.

Mark Levin believes he is, so the bottom line is that this could go either way and Cruz needs resolution.

A nonbinding resolution is meaningless in a legal sense.

The best ticket would be Trump/Cruz, and if Cruz is found ineligible, Trump can replace him after the election.

Trump would spend all his time answering the question of why he chose as his VP someone he believes is constitutionally ineligible to be president.

Thats why bashing Cruz and his supporters on this forum is not productive. Trump doesn't want to be POTUS for 8 years and Cruz as a VP would open the door for him to be POTUS in 2020.

If Trump wins now he'll run again in 2020. Losers quit, winners don't.

Nick, he needs to insist on a court decision. He can do that because he is running for POTUS. I'm not sure if it is the Supremes or any Federal court that can make a decision. Someone told me it would be a lower court first.

I don’t think Cruz is eligible, but he did get a ruling from the Illinois Board of Elections at least, so there’s that.

Doesnt pertain to the vice president..I think. Havent looked into that though.

Read the 25th Amendment: "In case of the removal of the President from office or of his death or resignation, the Vice President shall become President." That can't happen if the vice-president isn't eligible to be president.

Trump is not the one constantly lying about someone’s record, that’s Cruz. Not a day goes by that he doesn’t say Trump is pro-abortion, Trump wants to expand ObamaCare, Trump is soft on illegals and Trump wants blanket amnesty for illegals. Cruz wakes up in the morning and repeats these lies for every crowd he gets in front of. It’s really pathetic, because no one can’t be that damn stupid, or he might be. No he’s not, he knows the truth, but he takes his cue from Goebbels, who said “repeat a lie often enough and people start believing it”. He’ll come in 3rd of 4th in NH, 3rd in SC and it’ll just about over for lying Rafael.

I’ll bet you don’t have a clue.

No one has said so or agreed.

Keep clinging to St. Cruz. Would love to see Trump/Rubio chew him up!
