Carter would pick Trump over Cruz
The Hill via MSN ^ | 2/3/2016 | Rebecca savransky

Former President Jimmy Carter said Wednesday that if he had to choose, he'd pick Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump over rival Ted Cruz, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

At a lecture in Britain's House of Lords on Wednesday, Carter was asked to give his “assessment” of American politics.

After talking about his own victory in the 1976 Democratic presidential caucuses, he went on to say that Trump would be a better option than Cruz.

If he had to choose between them, “I think I would choose Trump, which may surprise some of you,” he said.

“The reason is, Trump has proven already he’s completely malleable,” Carter said. “I don’t think he has any fixed (positions) he’d go the White House and fight for. On the other hand, Ted Cruz is not malleable. He has far right-wing policies he’d pursue if he became president.”

Whatever u think of Trump, that’s one endorsement he sure as hell didn’t need! The Carter “kiss of death!”

I can’t take the credit. The panel on Kennedy’s FBN show are a bunch of libertarians and they think Trump will get what there is to get of Rand’s fans.

That’s correct, but let’s be honest, we’ll get it with every other Republican candidate with the exception of Trump

All of that was the true price of big government. Carter was our last fiscally honest President.

Too bad voters don’t want fiscal honesty. They want Santa Claus.

The nail in Trump’s coffin. An endorsement by the 2nd worst president in history.

Carter likes Trump because a big part of how they advance their leftist agenda is via republicans giving them what they want.

Trump likes to brag that he makes great deals and in the past and recently has bragged about getting along great with many dems, some of them among the most radical of leftists.

They see easy ‘deals’ ahead with Trump on immigration, Obamacare, and any number of their pet agendas.

Carter and dems fear Cruz because he’s proven he will try to halt their agenda and advance conservative principles.

Candidates do a lot of talking, but the Russians have upgraded their weapons and everyone knows it.

We need an upgrade too, but have squandered too much in the Mideast.

Trump will be like Reagan and go to work with the philosophy, "The reason we have a strong military, is so that we never will have a war."

Trump will probably figure out how to make money with the Russians as well.

Hoover was also fiscally honest. True to form, people voted for Santa Claus that time too.

Carter is irrelevant to everything. This is just divide and conquer strategy, nothing more.

Would Carter pick Mary Ann or Ginger?

He's probably picked both with lust in his heart. ....and if so, that would be the first and only time I'd agree with him.

The nail in Trump’s coffin. An endorsement by the 2nd worst president in history.

It's a nail in Trump's coffin only in theory to those who remember Carter. He's just another has been to younger people. They may even think that Carter was a Republican because he endorsed Trump.

I want good relations with the Russians, acknowledging the fact that Russia will always be a “rogue” state to a degree, it’s a matter of figuring out what Russia really wants (and no it isn’t complete world domination).

But the fools at Foggy Bottom still subscribe to the “Cold War Playbook” when it comes to Russia.
