Donald Trump just accused Ted Cruz of stealing the Iowa caucuses over the Cruz campaign's admission that it helped spread a rumor that Ben Carson was dropping out of the race:

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump Ted Cruz didn't win Iowa, he stole it. That is why all of the polls were so wrong and why he got far more votes than anticipated. Bad!

--SNIP--

Update 2. Oh boy:

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump Based on the fraud committed by Senator Ted Cruz during the Iowa Caucus, either a new election should take place or Cruz results nullified. 9:28 AM - 3 Feb 2016

Trump is either like the mean Kirk or the female Kirk from StarTrek.

CNN did not say he was suspending his campaign. Read the tweet. I agree it could be taken that way but a professional would have verified first. Someone on Cruz campaign needs fired for not doing what an intelligent profession would have done.

The Cruz Team has no moral obligation to verify a CNN report.

If the Cruz Team wishes to disseminate the CNN report, they do have a moral obligation to put the report in its correct context, so that caucus goers could decide for themselves what Carson is doing.

For example a good way for the Cruz Team to pass along the information would be to say, "CNN is reporting that Carson is heading home for two days and will not be going to NH or SC".

A example of a bad way would be to say "Carson is suspending his campaign".

Sensible people are coming to their sensrs.

About the ethically challenged Cruz as well as Trump's overplaying Cruz's sleazy tactics.

Cruz is hurting himself with his growing collection of incidents that require long and twisted, torturous and largely implausible explanations.

Jake Tapper says CNN words were twisted. Cruz and team got caught deal with it. Cruz should reap what he sows.

Apparently the Cruz team was not the only ones to interpret the CNN comments that way. Didn't you even bother reading the tweets I posted? This smacks of desperation on the part of Trump, and from what I am seeing on the Net, Trump is not coming out of this looking good...

“A number of people here were extolling The Donald’s hardball tactics, playing to win, take no prisoners etc etc etc.

He can dish it out, but he clearly can’t take it. Not presidential material.”

Clearly you don’t see the difference between pulling no punches on a political opponent and being a lying, dishonest scumbag. Would Trump have condoned Sarah Palin, or someone else endorsing him, to equate Cruz with being a Nazi? Cruz clearly didn’t have any problem with it when Glenn Beck said as much about Trump. Would Trump have allowed Jerry Falwell Jr. to come out and lie about what Cruz would do if elected President? Cruz didn’t have any problem with Peter King saying that Trump would put his sister on the Supreme Court. Would Trump have put out a mailing to scare old people and intimidate people into voting? Simply didn’t happen. And the “Carson is quitting!” ruse is worse than any of them - that’s dirty politics Richard Nixon would have been proud of.
But... oh, right, if Trump complains about cheating he “can’t take it” and “isn’t presidential material.”

“Look at his history...its how he ALWAYS acts.”

Very true. And he always loses after his big tantrum.

Only time he ever did well in business was when he was young and he was working with Roy Cohn.

And he has done well as talent, as a Kardashian-like reality TV star.

I’ve got to admit, although Cruz has been #1 in my head, my heart has been with Trump. I have defended Trump to anyone I know, and yet, he has been souring on me lately with his antics. I keep waiting for him to become “Presidential”, and that concession speech after Iowa was perhaps one of his greater moments recently.... but then he pulls stuff like this and my heart just sinks...

No it wasn’t! Team Cruz did what any competent campaign would do after CNN said Carson was going home!

BS. Taking a break does not equal quitting the campaign, which is what Cruz operatives relayed to the caucus sites in an fraudulent effort to swing votes from Carson to Cruz.

His team pointed to a story on CNN, just like Rubio.

No, that's not what CNN Jake Tapper says.

See post 358.

Re:”I’m no fan of Romney, but I certainly wish he would’ve raised hell after the election results came in. Had he done so, a lot of corruption and fraud would’ve been exposed and we very well may have had a different president.”

Didn’t Romney claim a win in Iowa before it was proven he lost?

I am starting to really hate everyone in this race. Trump is a loudmouth little child who just wants to play President. We are now learning Cruz is a dirty person. Carson is a crybaby. Rubio is an amnesty pimp. They rest of the lot are liberals.

NONE of these men or women are fit to be POTUS. Not a single one of them....and the Democrats are worse!

Bye bye America. Whoever wins this election will be the one who finishes off this country for good.

You guys full of it. You know what that is. Carson doesn’t accept what the Cruz camp is saying.

“You are delusional.
Stop spreading your lies.
His team pointed to a story on CNN, just like Rubio.
He is just pissed because he got his ass kicked.
He is a sore loser.”

The anti-Trump media spreads misinformation, so, to you, that makes it perfectly okay if Camp Cruz distorts what is already misinformation, and then repeats it in a caucus in order to steal votes? And that’s okay because... why? Because “the right guy” (in your opinion) won? And THEN if Trump or his people don’t like it we’re attacked “sore losers”?

A couple of morning tweets and the press goes into a frenzy. Instead of talking about his victory in Iowa Cruz will have to defend himself.

Bingo. It's a tactical move, and it puts your opponent on defense.

I'm reading "Art of the Deal" and it is a classic Trump move to trash-talk his opponents leaving them having to defend themselves. It knocks them off message. He's using psy-ops on his opponents. Think how the label "low energy" has been hung around Jeb's neck to the point where the press now uses the term.

I’m a trump supporter, though not an over the top one. It seems to me he has a point. There were unfair shenanigans on both sides of the aisle. By saying Carson was dropping out, it unfairly impacted the numbers of the top 4.
