Hope he’s really dropping out. I’d hate for Ted Cruz to run around destroying what votes he has.

I wish him well. Now the rest of the bottom enders need to do the same thing.

I expected better from Rand Paul’s campaign. The 100 ton gorilla in the room is that the FederalReserve/banking in the US are destroying the US economy. It’s his dad’s big issue. I’m astounded that Rand didn’t make that a central theme of his campaign.

Rand Paul was probably the most intelligent person in both parties seeking the Presidency. Sadly he was a bit too arcane and not adept at retail politics. No doubt if he had emphasized his central message that the combination of porous American borders and debilitating foreign entanglements that actually lessen American security was catastrophic policy that must end, he would have done much better. The irony is that his father Ron Paul was labeled a “ neo isolationist:. However if one reads Congressman Paul’s speeches opposing the Iraq invasion he predicted with uncanny accuracy the dire results this invasion would have on the region, the American economy, American politics and its futility. Senator Paul himself was too afraid to be labeled an isolationist. Too bad he couldn’t exploit his father’s legacy and help the American people to at least examine those serious positions. His failed candidacy is a lost opportunity to educate and perhaps move the body politic.

Paging Kasich, Bush, Santorum, Fiorina, Christie and Carson ... please pick up the white phone in the lobby. Reality is calling.

His endorsing McConnell ultimately did him in!

How in God's green earth, could Rand supporters in KY, ever look at him as "their guy" with his arm around Mitch!

It did the same to Santorum in PA when he climbed on stage with W, Rove and Spector! Santorum's PA supporters would never again trust him not to slip the knife in their back

This should help Cruz in NH. Last time, Ron Paul got 23% of the vote in the NH primary, and Cruz has been courting the Paul voters in that state and elsewhere for a long time.

He should have a role in the next administration. Bevin can be trusted to appoint a good replacement in the Senate.

I’m sure he’s disappointed, since he started running for President from the first moment he hit the Senate. It worked out for Obummer, but not him.

The big question, will the Paulbots now gravitate to Bernie?

Who?

I don’t know about president but I’m proud to have Rand as my senator. Not good enough to counter balance that POS McConnell though.

Rand was my number two, I hope he has a powerful voice for reform in the senate and that his buddy Mitch has less influence than the janitor.

According to ABC News published criteria:
1: Cruz, Trump, Rubio
2: Trump, Cruz, Rubio, Kasich, Bush, Christie
3: Trump, Cruz, Rubio, Carson, Bush, Christie

So it looks as if the Debate on Saturday will be between:
Trump, Cruz, Rubio, Carson, Kasich, Bush, Christie

Seven on the stage. Carly is the only one still in the race who won’t be on the stage.

When this began, Paul was my number one candidate. Cruz was a close second. I gave Paul the edge over Cruz because of Cruz’s vote on the TPP, which I oppose. However, as time went on, it became clear Paul had no chance. He could gain no traction in the debates. He had no money. He compromised a few times with the Establishment, such as endorsing McConnell. It lost him Ron Paul voters, and gained him nothing. In a huge field of candidates, Paul was just never able to stand out, especially when Trump garners all the media attention.

I gravitated to Cruz some time ago. I suspect at least some of the remaining Paul voters will go to Cruz. Rubio, Trump, and the Establishment guys favor more NSA data collection, so that’s a non-starter with Paul voters. I do think it’s interesting that Paul would drop out now, before NH.
