What Ted Cruz Said about the Coal Mining Community Just Changed the Game Completely
Wayne Dupree Show ^ | 2 Feb 16 | Wayne Dupre

Posted on 02/03/2016 5:16:08 AM PST by elhombrelibre

On Wednesday night, I had the pleasure of interviewing Senator Ted Cruz on the Wayne Dupree Show about a number of issues affecting the American people. Immigration, education, and the culture of distrust in Washington were among these issues. Cruz answered these questions pointedly and specifically and didn’t waiver or hold back his passion for America.

I have a few friends in West Virginia that have felt the effects of Barack Obama and his fight against coal industry. I asked about the coal industry because we really haven’t heard the current GOP candidates speak on the issue. It would go a long way for coal workers if they knew they had someone backing them. Not only did Cruz deliver support for the industry, he also had a few more things to say.

Check out this audio and share with your friends:

re: Cruz pro-coal

Perhaps Cruz should make that the centerpiece of his NH campaign.

I would bet that a large number of coal miners and railroaders in WV voted for Obama.

I’m pro zeppelin.

Cruz going to promise me a free zeppelin?

I want 40 acres and a zeppelin flying over my house.

Anti-coal pretending to be pro-coal. There are Midwestern mines extensively using Mexican labor, and Americans are not welcome in the mine except as contractors doing jobs like installing electrical cabling. Cruz is not really interested in deporting these Mexican coal miners, but the American coal miners are interested in the deportations talked about by other candidates.

Yes! A coal-powered zeppelin with a steam engine!

Ugh. Quit lying about Cruz. Cruz’s positions are clearly stated on his website. You are misrepresenting him.

He introduced legislation, which is all you can do as a Senator.

Apparently Obama’s war on coal has been prosecuted by the executive branch only, without benefit of legislation. It’s good that Cruz promises to reverse those actions as President.

Cruz is not talking about a spending program. Coal is not like wind turbines or solar power. It actually pays its own way, if allowed to do so.

“Ugh. Quit lying about Cruz. Cruz’s positions are clearly stated on his website. You are misrepresenting him.”

What Ted Cruz does now versus what he actually said and did to put those Mexican laborers in the American coal mines are stark opposites according to many sources, including:

Ted Cruz’s ‘Flat Out Lie’ on Immigration

The Texas senator insists he’s never favored a path to legalization for undocumented immigrants, but many of his old colleagues say that’s not true.

De Posada is a former Director of Hispanic Affairs for the RNC and founder of the Latino Coalition, a conservative Latino organization that worked with the Bush administration unsuccessfully to pass immigration reform. “My criticism is that Cruz can say, ‘Things have changed and I’ve changed my position.’ But don’t sit here and flat out lie that you have never been for legalization when the facts are very clear.”

The facts, according to De Posada and several Republicans who worked with Cruz in Washington and Texas, are that in Cruz’s past work for Bush and later as a board member of the Washington-based Hispanic Alliance for Prosperity Institute, Cruz helped craft policies to allow undocumented immigrants to stay in the country and pursue legal status.

None of those efforts included granting automatic amnesty to undocumented workers, but it is clear in the minds of his former colleagues that finding a way to offer immigrants a way to remain in the United States and gain legal status was central to the work Cruz did.

“Only if its a Canadian chicken. They have different spices.”

Admittedly, Canadian KFC is much better than American KFC.
The latter is gross with fat.

To their detriment.

Seems to me that they would more naturally fit in the right wing than the left - the si senor side.

Changing or evolving positions are a bit tough for Trump supporters to wield as a weapon against anyone.

Trump trumps all in that regard.
