Carson Camp: Cruz Apology Is Too Little, Too Late
msnbc.com ^ | February 2

Ted Cruz apologized to Dr. Ben Carson on Tuesday after the Texas senator's campaign was accused of trying to sabotage his opponent's chances in the Iowa caucuses.

Cruz's campaign blasted out a report Monday night that suggested Carson was going home to Florida instead of campaigning after the Iowa caucuses - something Cruz said Tuesday is "fair game" - but admitted that the campaign should have corrected that report when it became clear Carson wasn't dropping out of the race. He was just going home to get "fresh clothes."

Carson saying he was going home is one concept. Carson saying that he is dropping out of the race can never be described as saying Carson is dropping out, I mean, among reasonable people.

Here is something for you to ponder. Just because you claim something is true doesn’t make it true. I’m sick and nauseated that Christians consider evidence to be expedient. It fits your narrative that Trump bribed people in Atlantic City. So you say it’s true. You don’t need evidence. Just the justness of your cause: defending Cruz.

It’s sickening.

The same people who were having a "lord of the flies" attitude are suddenly feeling put out by Cruz's "dirty twicks".

I've noticed that too. If the tacky diatribe is coming from Trump, it's hooray time....go Trump! But if it's coming from Cruz, his campaign or a serious Trump competitor it's "dirty tricks". It's almost leftie-like in the double-standards duplicity, in fact. And the most vocal Trump supporters (here and elsewhere) are starting to remind me of the union thugs that supported Obama (cult-like idol-worship with a dash of whoop@ss)

How about Carson saying he’s not going to NH or SC not long after he said he said he’d drop out if he didn’t win the first couple primaries? CNN said everybody knows that’s what you do if you’re about to drop out.

Where has Carson been campaigning this week?

He has never filed for personal bankruptcy. A couple of his companies have and, except for one instance, I believe, he was no longer involved in the companies.

Sounds like a politician to me.. Maybe even Bill Clintonish!!

“... he said he’d drop out if he didn’t win the first couple primaries?”

I bet he never said a word about campaigning hard in Iowa for months and then drop out 2 hours before the caucus began. I doubt anyone in world history has pulled that one off.

“CNN said everybody knows that’s what you do if you’re about to drop out.”

I saw the CNN report and they did not say a word about him dropping out.

CNN is not empowered to speak for the Carson campaign.

“Where has Carson been campaigning this week?”

It looks like Carson wants to try to recapture the magic he encountered at the Prayer Breakfast, the same that got him started.

This episode cannot be explained away. It was dishonest and dirty, and I don’t really care if it is just politics. Cruz has put himself out as different, beyond the reach of foibles and temptations that plague the rest of us. He is a liar.

An IA caucus-goer commented on this thread that the Carson campaign had no energy in the state. He said the campaign was suspended after one of their IA staffers was killed in a car accident and the campaign had never been un-suspended, which contradicts the claims that he had been campaigning for 18? straight days and so he needed a clothes change.

The comment about dropping out if he didn’t win the first couple primaries was in an interview with Hannity, IIRC.

The video can be seen at https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1085531334800368&id=100000305365400&_rdr

(or I’m told it’s also at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XBfEfKZ6rBk if you don’t want to go on FB)

If you listen you will hear them say that Carson would not be going to NH or SC, and everybody knows that’s the behavior of somebody who’s about to quit.

So Carson’s “campaigning” is at a Prayer Breakfast in DC. And that “campaigning” is why he can call Cruz a liar for reiterating CNN’s report that he wasn’t going to campaign in NH and SC. Is that what you’re saying?
