Welcome back. It was a great night.
The most conservative (not to mention smartest) man in the field won!
No No No....HE CHEATED! [s]
The tl;dr version:
He moved to Iowa.
Pandered to Evangelicals
Spent millions on phone banks and volunteers
Walked away with more more delegate than the guys that spent a fraction of the time and money.
Cruz had a great night showing not only he has support but that his team has strong organizational skills for a ground game.
I still have Trump my first choice with Cruz as a second. My fear now is Rubio. The establishment organizations in states like the SEC primary (many state primaries at once) and in large states coming later will be a real test for grass roots conservatives to overcome. It is doable but I put nothing past the GOPe. I expect Trump will win New Hampshire but if Cruz wins or finishes in second he will have almost unstoppable momentum for the SEC primaries.
If Rubio finishes second the GOPe will call in all its favors for Rubio in the South and Kasich, Christie, Bush, Fiorina, etc will drop out and endorse Rubio.
The SEC primary vote being split among Cruz, Trump, and Rubio is a bad thing. I am also suspicious of Democrats crossing over to create havoc in the nomination process in the Southern states as almost all are open primary states.
The Canadian for POTUS 2016!
and then some years later we will have....
The Syrian for POTUS!
This news makes me very, very happy. Only disappointment for me was how well Rube-o “performed”. I suspect voting fraud, but if so the GOP-e did a really poor job of it.
I see that the ‘Trumpeters’ are out in force this morning.
They need to look at the numbers at these numbers, Trump and his supporters have been so visceral to Cruz, Rubio, Carson and their supporters that it has carried over in to such a dislike that Trump is unlikely to gain support from them even should their candidate drop out. You can’t burn bridges like that and expect to win.
Will the attack on the Evil Tea Party start again ,Blah
Yay Cruz!!! To all the sTrumpets...don’t fret; all Trump has to do is repeat the claim he made last year that he thinks Oprah Winfrey would make a fabulous vice president and he will be back on top in no time (What? Oh no, my bad, he was just “joking” about Winfrey???). Bwahahahahaha.
Big deal..we all know there are none such like in NH, SC or any other state.......Nope not a one/s
Guess they are all centered in IOWA, at least that is what seems to be the consensus, hard to overcome those numbers/s
Delegate count...Cruz 8...Trump and Rubio 7...Carson 3
BIG WHOOP!
In Iowa teenagers still work at McDonalds and the floor at Walmart isn’t covered in urine. That’s how Cruz won Iowa.
Hillary would destroy Cruz, it would be a Goldwater,Johnson election.
#groundgamematters
If it comes down to Cruz or Rubio, ask these questions. which would be better to support the constitution, which will be least beholden to the establishment & big money, which is more likely to appoint strong constitutional judges? The answer is clear CRUZ!
It’s Iowa. It does not matter. All that matters is Super Tuesday.
Guys, RELAX!
Iowa only serves to trim off the bottom candidates. Since it is a proportional system, it means that the top three candidates will get about 10 delegates +/- 2 delegates.
It is not so much a win as a tie with the top three.
Cruz, Trump and Rubio all know that it is a marathon and not a sprint. Each of those campaigns will now refocus on the next state and then the next state etc. That is the way that things will be until we start getting to the winner take all states.
Remember, these early caucuses are designed to eliminate the bottom candidates. I encourage all candidates who received less than 2 delegates from Iowa to drop their campaign and endorse one of the other candidates. Likewise, to those that have supported a candidate that got less than 2 delegates, please consider one of the other candidates for your support.
The sooner that the GOP field is narrowed, the better off the party will be going into the general election.
