Sarah Palin: ‘Wasn’t Hard’ To Choose Between Donald Trump And Ted Cruz
Breitbart ^ | February 1,2016 | by CHARLIE SPIERING

Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin joined the Today show to talk about her endorsement of Donald Trump as Iowans go to caucus tonight for the Republican presidential primary.

is was probably a tough call for you, between Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)97% and Donald Trump, began Savannah Guthrie during the interview.

t wasn’t tough,” Palin interrupted.

Really, Guthrie replied.

No, it wasn’t tough, she repeated.

Palin explained that she was happy to endorse Ted Cruz in his Senate race, because he was a fighter for the American people but that she wanted him to stay in Washington D.C.

want to keep him in the Senate, and I want Donald Trump to be our president, she said.

Guthrie asked Palin if Trump was necessarily “the godly candidate” for evangelical voters.

I hope voters aren’t trying to find the most Christian-y godliest candidate out there because who are we to judge one another’s level of faith – our Christian quotient if you will, she said.

Host Matt Lauer suggested that perhaps Donald Trump wasn’t enough of a true conservative, citing his Democratic record.

Palin referred to Ronald Reagan, pointing out that she was “glad” that Donald Trump was a candidate that had “seen the light.”

Later in the show, Palin was asked by co-host Willie Geist about what she brought to Donald Trump’s campaign by endorsing him.

I’m very, very conservative, very much a right-winger, proudly clinging to my God, my guns and my Constitution, she said. “I think I speak for a lot of Americans who have those same values.”

The Republican party of today is to the left of the Democrat party of Hubert Humphrey. That’s how far left this country has drifted.

True!!!

Can remember the day informed my parents that I had changed registration..............WOW!!!!!!! Thought they were going to disown me!! LOL!! They were of the “Yellow Dog” Democratic group!!! FDR was their hero.

I stayed a Democrat so I could (feebly only one vote but used that one vote as best as possible) vote and influence.

Staying Republican now just to be able to vote. Independents and Constitutional members cannot here.

Wish there were a party to align with.

Take care.........pilgrim

Could Sarah give us a few paragraphs about how DT has ‘seen the light’? 20+ million voters would like to read it from her very, very conservative right-wing piece.

Like most people, Sarah probably has skeletons in her closet; and maybe Trump found some of them.

FYI, RR supported Barry Goldwater's run for the presidency, he either formed or was a leader of the Democrats for Goldwater in, I believe, 1962. He ran for gov of Calif as a Republican and won circa 1968, can't recall exactly. So he had not been a Republican for very long when he ran for office. So, again, another similarity to Trump. By the way, Calif was either either the 1st or the 2nd state to legalize abortion, NY was the other, and RR signed that legislation. So his pro-life credentials, like Trump's, were a bit dubious as well.

I like Sarah Palin and I respect her decision.

I whole-heartedly disagree with her, but I'm not going to attack her for getting this one wrong, IMNSHO.

My Jewish Father was liberated by the US Army from Dachau and my Mom came here from Austria. Funny meeting 1 of my uncles in Austria and seeing him in his German uniform photo. Guess that’s why I’m all ef’ed up. My pop was also in his 50’s when I was born, that could be it too.) Peace out!-)

Good find. Goes with this reality!

Reagan had been a liberal democrat in his earlier years and voted for FDR four times and admired FDR.

books.google.com/books?id=U2cs7IHERBwC&pg=PA12&lpg=PA12&dq=Ron+Reagan+voted+for+FDR+four+times&source=bl&ots=iYmMp0EL0c&sig=YJl3eWma9XLzKjJPCMd9nXhUunw&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiF4YDJmvfJAhUU3mMKHaptA0UQ6AEIIzAB#v=onepage&q=Ron%20Reagan%20voted%20for%20FDR%20four%20times&f=false

Cruzertte logic of today, would have been to throw Reagan out and to the dogs.

Fortunately, people like nopardons and I refused to stab Reagan in the back. He won the nomination and became a great president in spite of being a democrat and really liking FDR!

I think Cruz is a good man who would NOT be able to get anything done if he was elected President. He needs to be on the Supreme Court.

You could almost put a mirror at the 50% line. That indicates to me that the FR caucus is a zero-sum game and that Cruz supporters are defecting to Trump.

OR, it could be an indication that FR Cruz supporters have given up trying to reason with the Trump Troll brigade that is sprinkled with a handful of deluded FR regulars.

For example, I hesitated offering up another plausible observation to the silly "FR is pro-Trump" decalrartion fearing that I will be electronically shouted down by the Trumpboners.

Care to bet on the over/under on the number of posts it will take before I am called a Noob or Troll?

I agree. Trump fan girls on FR are really good at shouting folks down. In complete nastiness.

Doubtful that Trump bought Sarah’s endorsement. Sarah has a lot of haters, so her endorsement easily could’ve have damaged him (like Beck with Cruz) and he knows that. When she was speaking that first night I thought I thought him cringe a bit. I call B.S. on any deal.

Go Trump

Sunday on CNN State of the Union, former Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK) said she would like to be a potential secretary of energy for President Donald Trump so she could get rid of the department and give the states power over their natural resources.

Palin said, I think a lot about the Department of Energy. Energy is my baby. Oil and gas and minerals, those things that God has dumped on this part of the earth for mankind use instead of relying on unfriendly foreign nations instead of imports their resources. I think about the Department of Energy and if I were head of that, I would get rid of it and let the states start having more control over the lands that are within their boundaries and the people who are affected by the developments within their states.
