Ted Cruz Sent "Voter Shaming Letter" To Iowa Professor of Political Science and the recipient eviscerates Cruz's campaign claim in an article via the New Yorker:
One of the targeted voters of Ted Cruz's campaign shaming letters is a political scientist in Iowa. He was none to happy with the message, or the data of himself and his neighbors.
In Iowa, although voter registration information is free and available to the public, voter history is not. That information is maintained by the secretary of state, which licenses it to campaigns, super PACs, polling firms, and any other entity that might want it. So was the Cruz campaign accurately portraying the voter histories of Iowans? Or did it simply make up the numbers?
It seems to have made them up. Dave Peterson, who happens to be a political scientist at Iowa State University and is well-acquainted with the research on "social pressure" turnout techniques, received a mailer last week. The Cruz campaign pegged his voting percentage at fifty-five per cent, which seems to be the most common score that the campaign gives out. (All of the neighbors listed on Peterson's mailer also received a score of fifty-five per cent.)

This is how serious this is:

Probably gonna cost Cruz at least 2 points in the caucuses tomorrow, probably more.
“And what’s worse, they just make the voting records up out of thin air.
That’s correct because caucus attendance is not recorded by the Iowa SecState; it’s not even possible because caucuses are informal affairs paid for and operated by the political parties. Same thing in Colorado caucuses, which I attend, btw.
“yuge manatee”
Too funny, dude! Too funny!
“every one of these i’ve seen so far says F 55%, that can’t be true for all of them”
It’s a phony, made-up “grade”. SecState of Iowa does not record caucus attedance; causcuses are very informal affairs funded and operated exclusively by the political parties. Same way we do it in Colorado.
The Rubio campaign sent out a similar “shaming” mailer. Now, why, do you imagine, only Ted is taking heat? Perhaps the establishment and their lapdog, the msm is responsible?
“His campaign sent a letter to the chief arbiter of campaign morality, an Iowa political science professor! It is all over! “
You cannot begin to imagine the amount of damage this is going to do to Cruz at the Iowa caucuses, which are very small, informal affairs in which everyone who attends can stand up and make a case for or against specific candidates. The most knowledgeable and passionate attendees can easily sway others to their way of thinking.
“every one of these i’ve seen so far says F 55%, that can’t be true for all of them”
I was thinking the same thing. Suppose you get 55%. All your neighbors also get 55%. What a coincidence! I have worked a bit with statistics and to me this looks made-up.
“He says that the grades are made up. Voter history is not available to the public in Iowa.”
However, voter history IS available to those who buy the state voter database, nonetheless, the grades ARE made up because caucus attendance is not recorded by the Iowa SecState because they are private affairs funded and conducted exclusively by the political parties. Same as in Colorado where I attend caucus.
I have not seen a copy of the Rubio mailer ... do have a link .. Rubio is sleazy too ...
Look at this little nugget ...

For $1.2 mil he can steal my house and turn it into a meth lab for all I care. :-)
The topic does not stop tomorrow in Iowa. Cruz will be forced to explain this in each state going forward.
It really is not something that I would have expected form him at all.
I mean not even a little bit.
If this was my campaign and I saw my people about to send something like that out, I would be like, no, and go home.
No way.
Because it wasn’t actually similar.
Ted the Creep is all alone on this.
Threatening Cruz mailer:
stupid Rubio mailer:
They aren’t all 55%.
I saw picks of others with 65%.
Rubio’s was not like Ted’s.
vile Cruz mailer:
“So if the Iowa SOS office ‘licensed’ (what’s the fee?)”

For those who have either NO idea or the damned dead WRONG idea why Nixon was called "Tricky Dicky", it's because when he was running, in California, against Helen Gahagen Douglas, for the Senate, he sent out a flier, on PINK PAPER ( intimating, subliminally ONLY, that she was a "PINKO"; which she in deed was, without saying a word about it!) and so, won that election. The lefties, PINKOS, Fellow Travelers, outright COMMIES, were after his scalp after that, even AFTER he died.
What Teddy/his team has done is FAR worse than that!
Ok, didn’t see that one .. thanks
