Donald Trump Says He Wants Supreme Court To Overturn Same-Sex Marriage
Donald Trump told Fox News he isn't happy with the Supreme Court's ruling on same-sex marriage and would nominate justices to overturn it. By Ethan Weston | January 31, 2016
Donald Trump says he isn't a fan of the way the Supreme Court ruled on same-sex marriage.
"I would have much preferred that they ruled at a state level and let the states make those rulings themselves," Trump told Fox News.
Trump told Fox News's Chris Wallace he would consider appointing judges to the Supreme Court that would be willing to overturn the ruling if he was elected president.
Last year, Trump told The Hollywood Reporter that the fight against same-sex marriage was a "dead issue" after the Supreme Court had its say. But he's also consistently said he's a believer in "traditional marriage." (Video via CNN)

He’s so in favor of marriage that he’s had 3 of them
When I first heard Donald Trump was running, I thought “Donald Trump? You gotta be kidding!”
Out of curiousity, I began to read about him. I listened to his speeches. I liked what he was saying about Americans taking our country back.
I’m all in for Trump now.
People do not like to be proven wrong so they refuse to even look at something that could prove them wrong.
That’s what we need
A president who understands states rights and delegated powers and gets out of the way
Despite his personal views on social issues
He couldn’t have had his own thoughts before this?
ahem. . . splodey heads in 5. . .4 . . .3. . .
Yea, I get that. Why are you disagreeing with me (us), or are you agreeing with us that FedGov should have stayed out of it.
Where have you been? No concept exists until the Donald speaks it
I don’t think a state can force that on people either.
??? What you talking about Willis?
I am quite familiar with states rights.
You have an interesting point. I bet the GOPe folks are just cringing that Trump will lose the fag vote.
If he cannot corral the votes of all the fringe leftist out there, he’ll lose for sure. Better give the nomination to Jebby.
The Supreme Court AND the states are outside their legitimate powers and jurisdiction when they rule or legislate outside the laws of nature and nature’s God.
But I must say I’m not surprised that Trump would be as ignorant on this as he is on so many other critical matters that will decide whether or not this free republic survives.
And Hillary, Obama, W, Romney...etc .. all were for marriage defined as one my and one woman only.
Trump is a con man. This statement just reveals he has no idea how to really approach the issue or of the ramifications of what has been done. He did not thing Kim Davis should be able to keep her job.
Trump is a con man. I will never vote for him.
Great pic!
He doesn’t need to convince them.
Hillary has already sewn up the rhv.
The Tenth Amendment deals only with the legitimate powers of the general government, the states, and the people.
Neither the general government, or the states, or the people, have any legitimate powers to violate the laws of nature and nature's God.
And so, that being the case, of course the Tenth Amendment cannot possibly confer such powers.
..and most of them are OLD liberals!
I fear you are right. Presidents may advocate and appoint justices over time, but who knows even then how long we will suffer this disastrous law, until which time there is a majority on our side.
Losing ground to Leftists who managed to get this outrageous petition into the hands of the Supreme Court Justices is an indictment of the Republican complicity in the act itself, and of destroying not only Christian tradition in our country, but advancing an evil into our culture, by their purposeful laxity in fighting against it.
Once anything becomes the supreme law of the land, to overturn it brings us right back to the Supreme Court, and the ominous selection of future judges in a sitting majority who are willing to do so.
Talk about time.... it could be forever, or until our Lord returns.
A question of states rights is subject to the same course of action.
True, but I cannot recall a single time Congress has done that.
