OK- now you’ve piqued my interest. I am a political junkie. I worked on a successful US Senate race, at the grassroots level. I worked hand in hand with a district coordinator, and the state coordinator. It was a blast.
It was how I found FR, at the election campaign victory party. A freeper was there with a NEWSMAX sign and had scrawled the FR URL on the blank backside, and was flashing the room throughout the night.
We defeated an incumbent. The only sitting US Senator to be defeated in that election cycle. Carolyn Mosley-Braun. We referred to her throughout the campaign, as Mostly Gone.
This guy named Karl Rove was hired by Fitzgerald, to run his campaign. The template was based on a presidential style campaign. Fitzgerald won by 5 points.
We had to fight the Combine/Uniparty, and The Chicago Way.
Illinois is saddled with a sad sack GOPe US Senator named Mark Kirk. RINO INC. and a Dem. named Dick Durban. A leftist on par with soebarkah.
Correction- Dick Durbin. We referred to him as Dick Turban.
FWIW- Down the road, the electoral votes that may be won in a general election for the next four upcoming state races are:
Iowa 7
New Hampshire 4
South Carolina 6
Nevada 9
I think you could be correct in all you say. I think I’ve noticed a difference in him from the day he announced through now.
Like you, I pray for him throughout the day, especially for his safety.
Go Trump!
I misspoke up thread, remarking that Illinois, had 28 electoral votes up for grab in this election cycle... it’s 20.
Donald Trump: Sarah Palin To Iowa;
GOP frontrunner Donald Trump announced that former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is coming to campaign with him ahead of the Iowa caucuses on Monday night and also said fellow GOP presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz’s (R-TX) controversial campaign mailer “looks like a government voter violation.”
“She’s going to be here,”Trump said of Palin, adding that she’s “going to be on Monday on the Today Show.”

You betcha’
I think Huck had to do well in Iowa to move on. It doesn’t appear he will.
Illinois : the state where CRUZ has had his name on the ballot challenged

Notice where we are on the time line
Carol Mosley-Braun — what year was that - 1992? I remember that defeat “fondly,” even though I’m out on the left coast. Think it was Rush who kept us all advised on that.
Your experience in politics was far, far better than mine. I was so naive in co-running a City Council campaign that we didn’t know that Standard Oil still ran the City even though they had vacated the town 20-25 years before. Made their presence known the Sunday before vote with deadly, untrue flyers against our candidate — the press was on our side but the paper’s policy was to not print our denial of charges the day before election. It was a crushing defeat. So now I just watch from armchair which is wise.
I’m not particularly social but my husband was. I loved nerdy statistics and precinct demographics — so we were a good team. Dang ol’ Standard Oil.
Amen to every word of your post, Guenie!
Trump’s closing the deal with Sarah In Iowa Monday - voters will see/hear her on “Today” show.
Canuck Teddy Boy will go home crying with his BFF, Glenn Beck.
Boy, Fox not too forgiving. Hitting Trump through Cruz right and left.
We have to win Florida, Ohio and PA, to win the General, is what I’ve heard. Is that right?
I noticed the legacy news pushing sanders. I wonder if this was to minimize Reagan democrats?
Just tuning into FauxNews and saw a clip with Shrillary in a small venue (as was Marco), and then a Yuge Bernie rally, which was likened to a Nobama-like rally. Of course, they both had Yuge college turnouts with pop bands to draw those crowds. I imagine the aroma was much like a Grateful Dead concert!
But, they didn't spend much time on Trump. It's Cruz for them, I see!
But Donald has a more universal appeal than any of them. Laura I. talking positively about Donald now!
the man is evolving. He’s a fast learner. He knows how to manipulate and avoid the press, as he’s learned from experience. You keep a few close to you. When someone treats you unfairly you make an example of them.
People forget, Obama totally rules the press. But in his case he’s a coward. He will never do the variety of interviews that Trump or Hillary or any of the others would do in general election, and now once in office he doesn’t need to.
But, I agree, I think the most magical thing to probably happen in the coming years if he’s president, is that you might see his faith evolving. He is a lucky man. God has been good to him, and he has for the most part followed God’s laws, but he is not a totally humble man before God... because he hasn’t been humbled.
What if someone kills one or more of his family members, or something other that hits home. I’m sure he thinks of this. He knows that you go at the enemy through their family.
He must know that he’s in this for keeps, and he needs God’s help. Does he pray, on his needs? Who knows. Maybe he does.
In short, we are seeing someone very much like ourselves with all the shortcomings, and faults, but with much good. Unlike the other guy in the WH whom we know NOTHING, absolutely nothing about.
I think a few do know. Certainly, Hillary.
We don't go on Cruz Rally threads to disrupt.
Microsoft BING just predicted Trump will win Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina!!!!
So is the rally at 7:00PM EST ?
