The issue is not JUST the issue itself, but what the democrats will do with it in the general. And they will do plenty with it. We just do not need a candidate with this baggage, especially one who comes across, fairly or not, as a modern-day Nixon.

Here we are melting down because Trump is mentioning it, but the Democrats will have a field day on this, and I think too many of us who support Cruz are kidding ourselves if we think this issue will go away if he’s the nominee. Personally, I’m afraid the damage has already been done and the perception of Ted Cruz the Canadian is already in the minds of tens of millions of Americans.
