Is Rush Limbaugh Betraying Conservatism with Donald Trump?
PJMedia ^ | Tyler O'Neill

Posted on 01/29/2016 2:02:14 PM PST by Oklahoma

Last week, the conservative magazine National Review published a long and scathing attack on Donald J. Trump. Notable names included Glenn Beck, Erick Erickson, Michael Medved, and Thomas Sowell. Absent was the radio champion of conservatism, Rush Limbaugh.

Limbaugh said National Review’s attack came “too late now,” and would not convince Trump’s supporters. This may be true, but it could also be Limbaugh’s way of explaining why he won’t attack Trump himself. Could Limbaugh be “cheating on conservatism” with The Donald? Does he identify with Trump, or does Limbaugh’s hatred of the “establishment” run so deep that he is willing to tacitly support a questionably conservative candidate just to revel in the establishment’s defeat?

Limbaugh did not respond to PJ Media’s request for comment, but he may have hinted recently at the reason why he refrains from attacking The Donald -- as questionably conservative as Trump is, he is still better than Hillary Clinton. But is this understanding correct, or just another dodge?

What is ‘Conservatism’, a great majority of those that claim they are a Conservative, are open borders, unfettered traders. That’s not my idea of a Patriot.

Rush is for the most conservative candidate that can win.
When he decides who that is Rush will say.

Roger that.

NR is not a voice of unabashed conservatism. The article is pea soup nonsense.

Rush in today’s b’cast said he wasn’t promoting anything about Trump in spite of what the MSM says.

Rush has a radio show based on followers. Why kick a large part of your audience in the face just to make a point? He will remain non committal till the hop has a choice. His degree of happiness with the choice will be apparent.

The important thing is that we all fight each other instead of the liberals.... self destruction is the smart thing to do.

Monday I was listening to Rush. For the first time listening for 20 years Rush let a Cruz Bot have over 15 min. on the phone, saying one lie and half truth against Trump after the next. Rush didn’t act fair and balanced.

It dawned me Rush is being phony because his brother David and best friend Levin are endorsers of Cruz. Rush is an agent of Cruz campaign.

Rush is smart though if the polls are looking like Trump will win Iowa, he will set his sails as the winds blow.

Rush doesn’t want to lose the listeners who want Trump like Levin has.

Cruz took down his anti Trump ads since he knows he is in second place and instead has taken to putting up on the air anti Rubio ads instead.

Trump is answering the American people’s decades long cry for help, help to be released from the clutches of gloBULLism and that it entails. Nobody listened except for Trump and it propelled him new height.

Conservatism toady apparently means supporting a pro-abortion, pro-universal healthcare, pro-amnesty, pro-gun control, Democrat campaign contributing, Obama praising, Deblasio praising, Clinton friend, Soros associating, crude, cut-and-run liberal.

Absent was the radio champion of conservatism, Rush Limbaugh.

Refreshing to see someone think for themselves and not follow the herd.

There's nothing wrong with Rush staying neutral and being objective about all the candidates.
