A huge number of them were sold around Atlanta as lease vehicles. Georgia had a $5000 tax credit on leased EVs, amounting to a free car for two years - a no brainer. GA missed so much revenue they recently cancelled the tax credit, and the EV market completely collapsed.

Like everything else the first Muslim says, that was just to kick the can forward to let time cement to concept of electric cars. He does that to allow the idea to become too embedded (financially) to back out.
Electric cars belong on the golf course and in senior communities.
