You are unable to say - "Trump did a great job."

Trump did a great job.

But, my point is that the fundraiser was mainly to pad Trump's ego.

This vet thinks Trump is a phony.

But will I vote for him if he's the eventual nominee?

You bet!

Unfortunately, I've had to vote for the lesser of 2 evils for too many elections.

______________
You could be right that Trump is a phony about the fundraiser.

I have to balance your statement with this article which details his generosity in New York with Vietnam Veterans Plaza where he wrote a check for $1,000,000.

The check Trump wrote was real and he wasn’t running for office.

Again, you could be right, but there’s this also, hadn’t hear this story, wonder how many more are out there?

There is also the time Donald Trump saved the New York Veterans Day Parade, there’s that too.

Organizers, who placed the turnout at closer to a million, said the parade would not have been a success if it hadn’t been for real estate developer Donald Trump, who contributed $200,000 and raised another $300,000. ‘Donald Trump saved the parade,’ said parade director Tom Fox, himself a Vietnam veteran. ‘We had asked for donations from 200 corporations, and none of them came through,’ he said. ‘This donation is the single most important thing I’ve ever done,’ said a beaming Trump. ‘This is more important than all of my buildings and my casinos. This is my way of saying thank you to all the men an women in the armed services who have made it possible for me to become a success. Without them freedom and liberty would be gone.’
