Fox News used a pollster to host a pro-Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)79% focus group after Thursday night's Republican debate, despite the fact that the pollster actually had Rubio as a client.
Pollster Frank Luntz got significant airtime to direct a post-debate focus group that unsurprisingly was very favorable to Rubio, the GOP establishment pick in the primary race.
"Megyn, you asked probably the toughest question of the debate. You gave the candidates no room to wiggle. You pressed him. And he responded," Luntz gushed to Megyn Kelly, awkwardly referring only to Rubio before even mentioning him by name. "I want to begin with the most important and impactful moment of this debate. It was your challenge of Marco Rubio. And watch how well he did on immigration."
The focus group, featuring pre-selected ordinary Americans, was a love letter to Rubio.
But Rubio actually had Luntz on his payroll at one time.
Rubio hired Luntz to work on a document called "100 Innovative Ideas for Florida's Future." Fox News did not disclose Luntz's past business relationship with Rubio Thursday night.
Nevertheless, GOP Establishment flacks cited Luntz's post-debate focus group to defend Rubio's subpar performance.

Totally agree. I think her ego was bruised when she went after rump and now has been going after him since and will not let it go.
I looked too and could not find the ratings for FOX or trump. Be interesting if FOX lost a lot of viewers last night.

I watched CSpan as CNN was cutting and running. but those 18 meg CNN got was Probably due to trump coverage. Will be interesting to see if Trumped kicked both networks butt and see if FNC got thumped. If I was program director at CNN I would have never cut away. Great chance to embarrass FNC.

The same pollster had a unanimous Ted Cruz victory at the debate in SC. There is no conspiracy.
That explains that. He and his silly focus group were totally focused on Rubio last night.
Wasn’t CNN the one carrying Trump’s event? Is 18,000,000 a high number for them? Higher than normal?
How does Luntz come up with his focus group?

Fix News is pushing Rubio, as per boss Murdoch’s orders.
When will Rush mention this? Is his friendship with Ailes and Kelly stronger than telling his audience the truth? I was waiting to hear it yesterday, but didn’t.
