That was my first thought...
The flight was up for two hours.
Occam’s Razor.
Panic could be likely. Could also be coincidence. I’ve been on flights where attendants were VERY hungover... More so than me..... Attendant faints. One guy pukes just from coincidence.
Then there’s sympathetic puking where one person sees it everyone starts to puke.
So. Maybe it’s that and not pressurization issues.
On FR, it’s always the fault of the victim.
“...almost died because of a sudden venting of volcanic gases during a pretty harmless walking trip.”
could it have been carbon monoxide? odorless, colorless and deadly.
+1
“volcanic gases from Iceland. Donât laugh, theyâre very toxic.”
Yes, thousands of visitors to Yellowstone die every year / sarc
“Americans are a bunch of hysterics and have been for years; i.e. âtaking in the waters,â Snake Oil, and herbs and vitamins will serve as examples.”
Sorry, I have to Troll this. Put Trump in the former categories.
ROFL!!!!
I was a school bus driver for 8 years and there was a phenomena that occured with some regularity among the 100 buses that made up our fleet: if one high schooler vomited, for whatever reason, likely as not you would soon have 8 or 9 people vomiting. It was an enormous pain in the ass to deal with, needless to say, a huge disgusting mess. It’s like a physical version of mass hysteria.
Watching someone vomit can induces you to gag and begin vomiting yourself. It’s catchy, and some people are highly susceptible to it, especially when enclosed in a bus (or airplane).
"...you see, chem-trails have always been a gas..."
Lol.
“”The plane was in the air for more than two hours and was flying close to Keflavik in southwest Iceland and when it turned around—””
Was there a reason to return to origin vs simply land in Iceland to check out the plane?
Otherwise, this seems to be a case of corporate stupidity—kinda like the many cases of government stupidity.
I know what you mean instead of it being like the older shows. Figures right?
It affected half the total flight crew but not half the passengers. It didn’t affect the cockpit crew (on O2 ?) as much as the stews-—more likely in the galley area.
Europe to US flights, let alone West Coast, feed you real meals, several times. Complimentary wine, even is Economy.
US domestic flights, however, have totally forgotten service in Economy.
The flight was turned around after two hours.
You may be right. It would be helpful to know the air circulation pattern in the plane and the location of those affected in the cabin, too.
No actively erupting volcano at Yellowstone. However they have been known to have the occasional tourist boil. (Thermal areas are the most dangerous thing in the park, next to idiot drivers).
My gut feeling was someone had bad case of silently but deadlies-some can tolerate some will pass from just a whiff
Jesting aside- these reportings will just embolden our enemies to either try something or claim they did it for publicity
