The head of an Iraq and Afghanistan veterans group says they will decline donations from the fundraising event Donald Trump plans to hold Thursday night as he sits out the Republican primary debate.
Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America founder Paul Rieckhoff said on Twitter Wednesday that his group had not heard from the Trump campaign and did not know which organizations would be involved in the veterans event.
Rieckhoff’s criticism wasn’t reserved only for Trump. He had a similar message for Texas Sen. Ted Cruz after a super PAC supporting the presidential candidate offered to donate $1.5 million to veterans if Trump accepts a one-on-one debate challenge.

Trump raising money for vets sounds like a Win-Win end result to me. Plenty of people use charitable events as a means to boost their own standing also. It’s better than just putting the money in one’s own pocket, no?

Paul Reichoff has been exploiting our Veterans for years and lining his pockets. He has hurt our Vets with his PTSD crap more than he has ever helped them. I blame him more than anyone for our Vets having their guns taken away due too all his “exploitation” of the PTSD issue.

These people are paid to solicit donations and then when someone offers them millions of dollars they say they will turn it down?
What about the veterans who would benefit from this money? Does he care about that?
I think this is nothing but a big publicity stunt by Trump, but if he raises millions of dollars for Vets, then it will be worth it.
I imagine, however, that if he held a benefit to build THE WALL, that he would get 10 times the donations that he will get for the vets. That seems to be the primary motivating factor for all of his supporters.
If the spokesman for the IAVA is stupid enough to believe that Hillary has the best program for vets, then he is one of the most stupid individuals alive today. Hillary hates the military, will do nothing for them and only says what she needs to to try to get support. Guess it works on people like this guy/
