On today's program, Gov. Mike Huckabee (R-AR) and Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA) confirmed they are willing to attend Trump's event tonight at Drake University. Asked if he would attend, Huckabee admitted, "we've put in a call to [Trump's] people and said that I'd be delighted to come." Though he has not heard back, Huckabee said, "if they say that they would be happy to have me, I'll be there."

Santorum expressed an equal willingness to attend Trump's event tonight, revealing, "after the debate I'm not going to be doing anything, so, I guess, if it's a charitable thing for the troops and he invites other people to come, I certainly would attend to support the troops." However, the former senator admitted he has not yet received an invitation.

Was not Trump behind building the Vietnam Memorial in NY City? I understand it was being held up, until Trump took the initiative. This guy is a doer, not a debater.

Inviting them would be a very smart thing to do. Both are popular in Iowa.

He can't help it, he was born looking that way.

So these two will participate in the undercard, then glom onto Trump’s publicity, if they can.

Having very popular in Iowa Huck and Santorum at his side could be a game clincher.

Why is nobody mentioning that Rubio isn’t a qualified to be POTUS because his Parent’s were not Citizens at the time of his Birth? They were Resident Aliens.

I guess if Rubio get the Nomination the DemoncRats will pull that Arrow from their Quiver. They aren’t as stupid as we think they are by a longshot.

Why does Trump need these two riding his coattails?

It doesn't matter. Everyone knows this is Donald's event, his creation, and he'll only look good allowing others to share the stage.

They plan to both have cake and then eat it. They will attend the undercard debate, then run over to the event. At least, that’s what I get out of their statements.

“I’m not doing anything after...”

Trump should let them come. They are no threat to him and it will make him look good.

that would BE GREAT if it’s true.

not wanting to find out Trump’s a bad guy.

just very skeptical coming from NY myself.

Since i’ll likely be voting for him in November (dont see Cruz pulling it off) I WANT him to be pro troops.

whether this is a shrewd stunt Thursday, or heartfelt, or both, it will get money to solders. that’s a good thing.

Who were our choices, Fred Thompson, Duncan Hunter, Mitt Romney, Rudy Giuliani, John McCain, and Alan Keyes.

We now know Fred was battling cancer. Duncan was cash starved, Mike Huckabee was a social conservative, and Mitt was as liberal as Guiliani.

We all pretended to like McCain, but now I know that Hunter, Giuliani, and Huckabee were the fighters in that group. This is anathema around here, but I would today have supported any of them over McCain who surrendered the day he got the nomination.

Pretty funny.

Essentially just moving the kiddie debate from Fox to CNN.

The difference is that Rubio was born in the USA and is an automatic citizen by the 14th amendment.

However, it’s questionable whether George Washington would have viewed him as a NBC. I don’t think he would have, because both of the parents had indicated a desire to return to their homeland.

Why not? The event is to raise money for veterans, and that is something that transcends politics.

Since Trump is in Des Moines, some have pointed out that these two could do the early debate and still make it to Trump’s event on time.
