Trump debate withdrawal is backfiring big-time on Fox News
The Washington Post ^ | January 27th, 2016 | By Erik Wemple

Posted on 01/27/2016 6:11:21 PM PST by Mariner

Donald Trump’s criticisms of Megyn Kelly have been weak, sexist, thin-skinned. His decision to back out of Thursday night’s debate is childish and reflects a fear of having to debate his competitors on issues facing the country.

All that said, this dispute is turning into a spectacle with two losers. Fox News unwisely sent out a statement yesterday designed to mock the Republican front-runner for his decision to launch a Twitter poll on whether he should participate in the debate. Here’s what that statement said:

We learned from a secret back channel that the Ayatollah and Putin both intend to treat Donald Trump unfairly when they meet with him if he becomes president — a nefarious source tells us that Trump has his own secret plan to replace the Cabinet with his Twitter followers to see if he should even go to those meetings.

On CNN’s “New Day” this morning, co-host Alisyn Camerota, who formerly worked at Fox News, espied certain fingerprints on that statement: “God, this is such typical Roger Ailes playbook. I worked for him for many years; I recognize this.”

Other pundits recognize it as well — and they’re using it to aver that Trump has some firm footing in bailing on Fox News. Firm footing that he’d never have otherwise.

We were warned that Erik Wemple was hired by the Wash. Post to be another “smear artist/hitman” just as were Dana Milbank and E. J. Dionne (in the past. Milbank is still at it).

Other “hitmen” include leftist Karen DeYoung (Foreign affairs chief reporter), possibly William Booth (Israel/ME) and a few others (Walter Pincus just resigned from a federal beat. He was a veteran leftist but you had to read his columns over time to see the very cleverly hidden biases).

Let’s see if the Wash. Post does anything on Hillary Clinton’s many ties to the Communist Party USA, Saul Alinsky and Cuban operations in the US, not to mention the 10-12 MILLION DOLLARS she and Bill and the DSCC got from the Mafia in the 1990’s.

As an actor once said in the original “The Thing” movie, slightly rephrased, “Look to the coverups. Watch the coverups”.

FAUX has a little problem with the border too

Xxx_xxxx_xxxxxxxxxxx_x

Complete title: Breitbart Turns On News Corp CEO Rupert Murdoch: He And Fox News Secretly Support Illegal Immigration

In their top story this morning, Trump World Headquarters unloaded both barrels at News Corp CEO Rupert Murdoch. They write:

In asking the question of “what’s wrong over there?” Trump has shined a spotlight on one of Washington’s best kept secrets: namely, Fox’s role via its founder Rupert Murdoch in pushing an open borders agenda.

The Trump campaign is a direct threat to Murdoch’s efforts to open America’s borders. Well-concealed from virtually all reporting on Fox’s treatment of Trump is the fact that Murdoch is the co-chair of what is arguably one of the most powerful immigration lobbying firms in country, the Partnership for a New American Economy (PNAE).

It would be correct to refer to Kelly as a slut. Look at the pictures. Only sluts would pose for pics like that and then be proud to show them.

The Republicans should not be fighting within the party. Save the fight for the Democrats. The goal should be to win back the WhiteHouse or the country will fall down even more and more.

This isn’t about Trump. This is about a Democrat party who has 2 terrible candidates. Fox, as well as every other MSM “news” agency is in the tank for the Dems. Never forget that.

The Estabishment knows thier only choice left is Hillary. They have to fracture the GOP and disable Trump.

Trump torpedo’ed thier plans. A brilliant move btw.

People get on t.v. and all of a sudden they grow big fat egos. Who do these people think they are? Most of them do not sound very smart. They may look good but they do not sound quick and bright.

I wonder if Trump's actions with Fox are an example of how the BIG MONEY interests kick the Lame Stream Media in line with their Leftist bias? Instead of pulling out from a debate, they threaten to pull out their advertising. This is the first time a presidential candidate has punished a network because of they made a remark not in keeping with their ideology:

"We learned from a secret back channel that the Ayatollah and Putin both intend to treat Donald Trump unfairly when they meet with him if he becomes president—a nefarious source tells us that Trump has his own secret plan to replace the Cabinet with his Twitter followers to see if he should even go to those meetings."

I am not savvy to the advertising game. However, the potential is there for advertisers to pull their advertising if the potential loss of viewers is there because of Trump. That would be a harsh punishment for the above comment. Fox should apologize for it. It reminds me of President Ronald Reagan who said, at the Nashua, New Hampshire debate, "I'm paying for this microphone, Mr. Green!" When you think about it, Trump, because of his popularity, has generated a huge advertising revenue for Fox. He indeed would have paid for that microphone.

It’s not about the statement that FOX sent out .. This is what it’s all about:

Google “NOOR” (she is a Muslim on the internet). She called Trump a Nazi and is a radical.

She was invited by Google and okayed by the RNC. They also had a woman Mexican and a Feminist (ALL INTERNET PEOPLE) all ready to attack him.

This is the ambush Megyn Kelly had planned for Trump.

Evidently, somebody tipped off Trump and that’s why he hinted about not showing up.

When nothing happened, and FOX did not make any disclaimer about their plans, that’s when Trump knew he had caught them .. so he said he wasn’t going to attend.

What I want to know is .. who tipped off Trump about FOX’s plans ..??

I agree Bret Baier is good

I think Bret and Greta would make a great team as co-moderators.

And that one pic (I presume you are referring to the 'silky black night gown' series of pictures?) where she has her ass half off the seat of the chair, there is nothing "hot" about that, it looks like she's doing a 'one-cheek-sneak'.

Kelly keeps saying “tomorrow nights fireworks.” What if there are not fireworks but boring questions? We have been watching these debates and not learning much. The Democrat debates are a time to take a nap.

Tell that to the people running the party. They instigated this mess.

Kelly is out to show Trump who is boss. They are going to have fireworks. Boy, can’t wait to watch. I can’t wait to hear Paul and the others. Advertisements may be more interesting. Hopefully, that guy will advertise My Pillow for the millioneth time on Fox.
