Cruz petitions for face-off with 'Ducking Donald'

Taunting Donald Trump for being “afraid of Megyn Kelly,” Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz is comparing Trump to the second-most famous Donald: Donald Duck.

Cruz, who earlier Tuesday challenged Trump to a one-on-one debate, is petitioning supporters to sign on for a face-off between the two leading GOP contenders.

“If Donald Trump is afraid of Megyn Kelly, then Ted Cruz is willing to debate ‘Ducking Donald’ one-on-one,” Cruz’s campaign wrote on its website.

“Ted Cruz is willing to stand up defend his record, anytime, any place. Why isn't Ducking Donald?”

Stupid of Ted to join the predictable knee jerk response that Trump is afraid of Kelly. Trump is breaking all the rules and hammering the media at every turn. The point is he’s not afraid to buck conventional wisdom, political correctness, or established practices. In that sense, he’s running the most courageous campaign I’ve ever seen. Calling him afraid puts Ted on par with Trump’s dumbest detractors.

I did not know there were rules against what Cruz is asking.

‘There are rules against this. Perhaps Ted forgot about that. He seems to forget a bunch of stuff.’

He or one (all) of his staff have to know the rules. Looks like he’s trying to give the RNC a just cause to disqualify both himself and Trump. That way the RNC gets Rubio, Kasich or Jeb as the nominee, and Cruz has them in his debt.

What other reason could there be to so blatantly attempt to breach the RNC’s well publicized, hard and fast rules?

these two need to be P & VP, regardless of who is who.

Not gonna happen. Ted is not interested in aligning with a thin skinned, pouty RINO.

Cruz is simply copying what Jeb Bush tried a month ago:

http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/presidential-races/264328-bush-challenges-trump-to-one-on-one-debate

it’s what losers do. they try to shine in the light of the winners when their own light dims. on the other hand, the shinning winner can only be diminished by sharing his light with a loser, which is of course why winners shun sharing their light.

But Trump sidestepped. Ya gotta love that strategy.

Run in circles, scream and shout."

That strategy?

I haven’t been involved much in the FR Cruz v Trump Wars,
but it appears that the division is pretty strident these days.

Ducking Donald is about to have his feathers plucked. What a smack in the face of Iowa voters. He’s going down!

You don't really believe that, do you? You just forgot the /sarc tag, right? I mean, after the many, many times that Trump was going to "fizzle out" according to so many various sources, and yet he climbs and climbs...you don't think that now, all of a sudden, outta no where, he's going down? That's just too funny, right there.

I think Cruz is making a mistake. Even voters not fond of Trump like that he is taking it to the media. Cruz could be seen as look at me, I want attention too. I think he should work on debate prep. Everyone knows Trump will ignore his offer.

Jim Robinson just sent me mail saying in his exact words

” Dump your “Jesus” tagline “ No I was NOT looking for support, just that this is obviously my last post because I am not removing it.

Like me or hate me I believe what it says, I honestly do

And BTW I am NOT new but have been here since 2000. Previously Friendofgeorge, prior to that Presidents Friend

If anybody has too much time on your hands you would learn that I was one of Sarah Palin`s biggest supporters, I adored her and defended her with my every breath regardless of the charge.

However I simply lost all respect for her when she endorsed Trump while he was saying such viscous things about Cruz.

I also was very excited about Trump until roughly the same time, never said a unkind word of Sarah or Donald until then.

No I dont believe anybody cares what I am saying here, absolutely not, can imagine the beating I will take, but that`s ok

Friendofgeorge user name I was not banned, but Presidents friend I was and for a joke only.

As Presidents Friend during the Bush Gore recount, I made up a story for a hoot (bad joke) said that they found a whole box of Bush votes in a dumpster, I made up the story said it was a credible story, I posted under breaking news

Forget the source I gave WSJ REPORTERS NAME SLIPS MY MIND

At any rate I believe when I say Jesus is for Cruz, I absolutely do

bash away

I am guaranteeing now a Cruz victory on Monday in Iowa

have a laugh at my expense, call it a gift from me to you all, maybe it will bring you together

There are rules against this. Perhaps Ted forgot about that. He seems to forget a bunch of stuff.
__________________________________________________________

Trump will not go one on one with Cruz. Even the most ardent Trump supporter knows that could be hazardous to one’s political health. Trump is the front runner. If Cruz cleans his clock, Trump is history. If Trump, on the other hand, emerges victorious, nothing has changed. They are still number 1 and 2 in the polls. Trump has nothing to gain and everything to lose. Cruz has everything to gain by making the challenge and nothing to lose.

With that in mind, the rules are meaningless since they will never be violated. Cruz is aware of this and, knowing he has nothing to lose, may now throw down the gauntlet for a 1-on-1 that will never happen and he also gets to call Trump a sissy with complete impunity for not accepting the challenge.

It is a brilliant play for Cruz. He can say Trump is afraid to face tough questions, defend his record, afraid of a little girl, whatever. There is no effective response that Trump can make against Cruz that can counter any Cruz attack on this issue.

It looks to the voters of Iowa like Trump ran away while throwing a temper tantrum.

Trump will now make some kind of bluster about how some person, one he will never name, apologized at Fox and he will show up at the Fox debate claiming victory.

Fox and the other candidates will have a field day with Trump not having the temperament to be president as demonstrated by his actions.

Cruz is a POS-—just another politician taking his paycheck while trying to get the people to give him a better paying job-—he should have to give up getting paid by the sucker citizens or resign before trying for another paying political job——
