Limbaugh and conservative media take Trump’s bait – Hook line and sinker!
americanthinker.com ^ | Keith Edwards

I was astounded to hear to Rush Limbaugh yesterday say essentially that he didn't get why Donald Trump was saying that he liked Nancy Pelosi and other high profile liberal politicians, and that he could work with them as well as the Republican establishment to get things done in Washington.

*snip*

Sean Hannity, Geraldo Rivera and Tucker Carlson seemed dumbfounded last night on the Hannity show that Trump has chosen to revive a feud with Fox News by citing unfairness as a reason for opting out of Thursday's debate.

What Limbaugh and Fox News fail to understand is that everything Donald Trump does is part of a calculated strategy to do exactly what he boasts most about - winning.

Trump literally wrote the book on how to negotiate the best deal. And the entire point of negotiating a deal is to win. But not just win - to position yourself with a mandate to do whatever you need to do after you win to get the biggest profit. And most importantly, position yourself with enough leverage over your opponents that the next time you meet they don't stand a chance.

About a week ago or so I heard someone question Trump about his admission that he would gladly negotiate with Pelosi and Reed to get his agenda passed. Of course the reporter followed-up by telling Trump that Republicans have tried that in the past and it didn't work. Then Trump said something that few people, other than his supporters, picked up on. Trump said you're exactly right, but I will win.

So what's the strategy that Limbaugh and Fox News don't understand?

Trump doesn't just want to win a presidential election; Trump wants to win a mandate presidential election.

I think you're right, he will. When you consider how Independents and a lot of democrat folks who now mostly sit out elections look at Trump fighting with Fox and saying he can work with democrat notables, he'll pick up far more Independent and crossover votes than any of this could lose him.

I know people who liked Obama the first time he was running, then worked hard against him in 2012. Some were democrat but most are registered Independent and have voted against the democrat as often as they have for one.

Like Trump says, you have to work with who you have to work with to get the job done and that's how I've met most of these folks. Someone wants me to come do a bit of work and I better be able to work with whoever the regular crowd may be or my contract is over right away.

Think Taj Mahal. That’s where he really bit off more than he could chew. He’s used his daddies money, banker’s money, and tax payers money. His deals are all about getting everyone else to assume his risk.

I don’t know who this guy Keith Edwards is; but I will put Rush’s track record up against his any day of the week.

Bingo! Exactly what I said yesterday. Limbaugh can see the stitches on a fastball in slow pitch softball. Trump plays hardball. Does anyone think Plastic face or Chuckie would look forward to dealing with a president with the negotiating skills Trump has? I don't.

How much money did Giuliani give Trump?

How much money did the gay elite donors in New York give Cruz?

“Trump literally wrote the book on how to negotiate the best deal”

I’ll bet the book says to not show all of your cards.

I listened to the show yesterday, and Limbaugh also said that such a ploy culd be effective to reach to a non-base segment of the voting populace. Rush believes that Trump is playng it too broadly for his own good, and it may backfire on him. BUT, Rush also anticipated the argument the author of the piece made.

(That’s easy. I have no idea what Trump’s principles are. I have not heard what his non negotiables are.

I can’t trust such a man.)

Kind of like Souter?
There’s a lot of wishful thinking among conservatives about Trump. What scares me the most is that he doesn’t care as much about the Supreme Court as do the Democrats. When that happens, there’s an opportunity for a deal. A deal whereby Democrats get the Supreme Court nominee they want and Trump gets whatever policy he wants for his legacy. That policy might be good for the country, but with the Supreme Court solidly liberal, you can kiss our freedoms goodbye for the long term.

The election has come down to one thing, you either want a wall or you don't give crap about the future of the USA. Rush has spoken.

It is a battle of Nationalist vs GlowBULLits. Frankly it doesn't surprise me that Rush came down on the side of the GloBULLists.

The wall is both functional and symbolic. So which side are you on?

Now that Trump is heading to his “safe zone,” like a college liberal, out of fear of the big meany Megyn, I think we can all realize that he is a pansy.

Kelly is the loser here not Trump
He doesn't need her

It’s really very simple.

The left is the enemy within. They hate America. They hate the Constitution. They hate Americans who love traditional America.

We want a conservative, a true conservative (doesn’t have to be perfect, but has to be a conservative) who is willing to fight.

We don’t want a president (conservative or otherwise) who “reaches across the aisle” to those who NEVER reach across the aisle, who NEVER compromise, who ALWAYS grind their victories in our faces.

We want a conservative president who is going to kick in the teeth of the leftists and push this country back toward the center.

Notice I didn’t say to the “right” because that would be asking too much, just someone to get this country off the fasttrack to Stalinism, Fascism.

No more Bushes. No more “kinder, gentler” BS. A no-holds-barred fighter who is fighting for our side, not someone to give the Pelosi’s and the Schumer’s a bit of what they want.

Is Trump that candidate?

I used to thinks so. Now I’m doubting.

I don’t think Trump expects us as conservatives to support him every time. In fact, our criticism of him is probably part of his plan. So we should remain true to our values regardless of his maneuvers.

At the same time, there is no real harm in saying he can talk with an elected member of congress. It means nothing. Saying a ‘little establishment’ also means nothing. He’s offering them gestures and us real substance in his promises.

Rush is still stuck in the FRAUDULENT Republican vs. Democrat Paradigm.

Hence, why electing the Republicans to control both houses of congress in the last Mid term election was the best thing that happened to Obama. It did not stop Obama or Obamacare. Like I said it’s been a blessing.

Here is how it works for those that just do not get it.

The Establishment/Uni-party/Globalist/The U.N./Security/The Dark Ages

vs.

Individual Freedom/The Renaissance/The U.S. Constitution/The Bill of Rights/George Washington

Anytime the Establishment is for something, BY DEFAULT, you should AUTOMATICALLY be against it.

Likewise if the Establishment is against something, BY DEFAULT you should be for it.

That helps eliminate the confusion if you are not sure.

Donald is following Ronald Reagan’s footsteps. Reagan refused to participate in a 1980 debate because he didn’t like Repub going after Repub. Trump is not running away. He is standing up for principles that we should respect.

If only our current president had such toughness other countries like Iran wouldn’t walk all over him.

The first thing a President of WE the PEOPLE should do is undo Obama’s executive orders and the liberal policies that are destroying this country. Then he can think about getting along with the other party, assuming they understand which party is in power.
That is why I cannot vote for GOPe or liberals, libertarians.

I agree, otherwise he’ll get nothing done with all of the obstructionism he will be facing otherwise if he does become president.

Isn’t that what King Barry told the Reoublicans after he won the first time? He rammed through the stimulus, Obamacare, etc. without any Republican votes. He was able to do so only because he had 60 votes in the Senate and a Democrat majority in the House. The Trumpster Fire known as The Donald will not have that luxury.

Anybody who believes the likes of Nancy Pelosi and Chucky Schumer will. ‘negotiate’ with any Republican POTUS is pure fantasy. The heretofore confused media will start printing stories about every person who got screwed in one of The Donald’s ‘deals’, and there are literally 1000’s of people who lost money investing in Trump’s casinos, etc. Donald has figured out how to always come out on top even when his ‘deals’ go bankrupt. He has the lawsuits against him to prove it.
