The entire premise of the ad is that Trump used eminent domain (stealing) to get rich. That is a lie, and the factoid Cruz uses to "prove" his lie is a false narrative of what actually happened. Trump has never taken so much as 1 sq. inch of property via eminent domain. The old lady, probably her son, was trying to shake down Trump. Trump offered 4x (2 million) the value of the house. She wanted 8x (4 million) the value of the house. I do not agree with Trump on eminent domain. I think he is wrong and I think the Supreme Count was wrong, terribly wrong on Kelso. But there are far worst problems facing the country and Trump get the important things like immigration, border security, trade and ISIS pigs right.

I think that sentence really highlighted the lengths people are going to in order to excuse Trump in this matter. If you’re willing to try and paint Trump as the victim, when he was trying to use government force to steal someone’s property, that tells us all we need to know, I think.
