How is it showing Trump to be co-opted?

Yeah I saw that. So far as I know it’s completely accepted by all parties that Cruz called out McConnell as a liar on the Senate floor and McConnell hates Cruz because of it. So I don’t know why a McConnell lieutenant would be running a Cruz Super-Pac; maybe McConnell hates Cruz but this guy doesn’t.

I think we twist ourselves into meaningless knots trying to prove that the other guy is wrong because his supporters are bad, but then we are right because we got one of the other guy’s previously-bad supporters to jump to our side, and one of our previously-good supporters is now bad because he jumped to the other guy’s side.

This is actually one of my problems with Trump. He bad mouths anyone who comes out against him, or even anyone who comes out in favor of his opponent, but “respects” anyone who comes out for him. That isn’t respect, it’s reciprocal flattery. If someone’s respect for me is dependent on whether or not I agree with them, their respect is not worth having. In fairness there are plenty on Cruz’s side who do the same thing, but I don’t see Cruz himself doing it, and I would cite his gracious comments about Sarah Palin as the example.

I’d like to see McConnell defeated, but I’m not going to oppose someone just because McConnell (or his lieutenant) supports them, or support them just because McConnell (or his lieutenant) opposes them.

Having said all that, I think Cruz has stronger anti-Republican Establishment (and more importantly anti-Democrat Establishment) credentials than Trump.

Justa you have stated *perfectly* why we cannot replace the U.S. Constitution with “The Art of the Deal.” These thoughts have been rattling in my head for days, but your words express them far more effectively than any phrases I’ve been able to articulate.
