President Trump hopefully will make the brilliant choice of placing Ted Cruz on the Supreme Court. That is where Ted belongs. It fits his personality and intellect. Plus he will be able to make a difference where 8 years as President he might get one or two of his policies through.....maybe. As Supreme Court Justice, he can literally change the direction of the country for the good.

For the life of me I cannot imagine why the GOP doesn’t immediately cease confirmation of any further Obama judicial appointments at any level. These lunatics that he’s appointing will continue to pollute the U.S. for thirty years or more. We need to stop the bleeding now.

Even if, heaven forbid, the Dems win continued occupancy of the White House in November, the GOP should continue to block confirmations, as long as the GOP retains control of the Senate. Or they should at least extract major concessions. E.g., you want the one supreme could nomination, six appellate nominations, and thirty-two district could nominations, we’ll give you three of the appellate nominations and twenty-one district court nominations you’ve proposed? In return you sign the legislation we passed rejecting all EPA regulations proposed or implemented since 2009.

Anyway, you get the idea. The requirement that many federal officeholders be confirmed by the Senate, and the control of the purse, are the major powers congress enjoys to rein in the executive and judicial branch, and so far the GOP has been remarkably incompetent in employin them.

The fact is that the body that rules on the constitutionality of laws may its self be unconstitutional.
