Rick Perry endorses Ted Cruz
Politico ^ | January 25, 2016 | Katie Glueck

Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry is endorsing Ted Cruz in the Republican presidential primary, Perry told POLITICO in an interview Sunday night.

Perry, who also sought the GOP nomination before dropping out in September, said he now sees the race as one that is between Cruz, a fellow Texan, and Donald Trump. Through phone calls and during a December day spent driving around his Round Top, Texas, home in his truck with Cruz, Perry said he found the senator to be a good listener who respects the Tenth Amendment, "knows what he does not know" and is more conservative than Trump.

"Of those individuals who have a chance to win the Republican primary, at this juncture, from my perspective, Ted Cruz is by far the most consistent conservative in that crowd," Perry said. "And that appears to be down to two people."

Perry, who is famously skilled at retail politics, will campaign with Cruz Tuesday across Iowa, and will join Iowa GOP Rep. Steve King to stump for Cruz again Wednesday. Perry and King will both join Cruz at a Des Moines rally Wednesday night.

The endorsement gives Cruz the blessing of the longest-serving governor in Texas history, just as the senator faces intensifying heat from other veteran politicians, including from his colleagues in Washington, Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad and former Senate Majority Leader Bob Dole.

Many more need to get off the fence and step up to back Cruz.

Hopefully, Scott Walker will too.

If trump wins in the Iowa caucus, we are toast. Progresives at the top of both main parties.

Rick Perry is a Conservative.

Trump supporters will now bash him. They will impugn his character and God-knows-what.

Not a good idea for Cruz to campaign with people who were polling at 0%.

This will either hurt him or have to effect at all. It sure as hell won’t help.

The Uni-Party will be in control at that point.

America is in peril and so-called Conservatives will have put us there AGAIN. They did so in 2012 when the could not compromise on Romney. He would have been some better than Obama. He would not have been great. Bush wasn’t great but he wasn’t Gore.

I think Conservatives will have to unite and NOT vote for Trump. The gamble will be that in 2020 we can get a real candidate.

I have never been a Bible thumping Revelations person or an End Times person or a God-is-punishing us person. But I think we have turned from God (abortions,10 Commandments,Obama, etc.) and unless we elect a Godly leader we are headed for more trouble. The arrogance of Trump troubles me. God will not be mocked.

As you don’t support Ted Cruz, your advice is questionable, at best.

Perry is a Godly man, but we have so many Godless so-called Conservatives supporting Trump that we are in trouble.

They are rudely crassly and arrogantly here en masse (they don’t know what that means) here at FR.

We have had many foreign born OF AMERICAN PARENTS presidential candidates. Google it if you know how or have someone help you.

Further, you are not Conservative if you support Trump.

Research Conservative and you will see I am correct.

Trump supports ony 2-3 Conservative positions. Go to Slate for your compadres.

“Trump supporters will now bash him. They will impugn his character and God-knows-what.”

Just like they did with Sarah Palin!
Oh wait...

Why bring it to this thread?

I see a non-related topics being imported to hijack threads and drive off other discussion.

There are a lot of other threads on FR more suitable for the “birther” debate.

“but we have so many Godless so-called Conservatives supporting Trump “

Actually you have people you don’t know, supporting someone you don’t like, that you have assumed authority not granted to you, to deem them things you have no right to assume.

That is the definition of someone that is neither Godly or conservative.
